I needed a brighter monitor to see better in sunny conditions. This did the trick and did it very well. Clear display, easy to use. I purchased a larger battery to allow for extended use. 5 stars....get this if you are shooting or filming in sunny conditions.

I have been shooting A WHOLE LOT for over 3 years using two of these monitors. Overall for the money they are awesome, especially if you work outdoors in bright sun (I am located in So CAL so this is our default outdoor shooting conditions). For the money you can't go wrong. The monitor is EXTREMELY bright and I have NEVER had to struggle to see my image, even when shooting in the desert in August at noon in blaring sunlight. Monitor does feel pretty hot to the touch (no, you can still hold it without burning yourself) but has never shut down on me. It is reliable. It is large enough to offer great view of what you are shooting, but light enough to fit on my gimbal set-up for an 8 hour gimbal marathon shoot. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for a few problems you need to be warned about:1. It overheats and eventually the plastic area around the threaded hole at the bottom, (where you screw in your camera mount) will become brittle and crack/fall apart on you. I have had to epoxy glue my camera mounting bracket on it and had to do this repair three time because the epoxy didn't hold either due to heat. I finally found that using JB weld putty for water application (their strongest hold) actually did the trick. Doesn't look pretty, but it has been holding for a year now :). Oh and you will have to paint the putty black.2. It is very bright and therefore eats a lot of battery power. I have larger high capacity batteries and find that I have to keep a spare battery on me at all time in order to quickly swap as the monitor tends to show 20% battery life left and then flicker for a few seconds and then die. So not a lot of warning. If you are shooting an event, such as wedding for example, it can catch you off guard and you'll miss that first kiss :((.3. Because it is so bright it will cause you consistently underexpose your footage. I have learned to compensate by double checking, using my camera screen, which shows me a much more accurate representation of what I am going to get.In closing, if you are willing to deal with above 3 you will love this monitor. I get lots of compliment on it everywhere I shoot. My clients love being able to see what I just shot. I use this monitor both for video work but also for PHOTO and will not do any serious photo work without it.I hope this review helps you.

7" is where it's at unless you're hanging it on a handheld rig or gimbal, and even then, this lightweight plastic unit, especially with a smaller battery mounted, is still manageable. The brightness is so great (crucial outdoors), and the sharp screen makes pulling focus or finding set deco problems, bad reflections, etc, so much more reliable. It has DEFINITELY prevented enough reshoots to pay for itself many times over.

Living in Los Angeles (and working in the industry), you shoot a bunch of stuff in natural light (aka outside), and it helps being able to utilize a monitor that you can actually SEE. The Feelworld FW279 (and the SDI version FW279S) definitely give you that. With an uber bright 2200nits, this blows away my previous monitor (the Blackmagic VideoAssist) and it's made my 3 shoots with this much easier, being able to focus and see my frame (without having to use a shade or whatnot). Sure there are features missing (that other manufactures have, but at a much higher price point) such as touch screen and LUT options, but shooting with the BMPCC4K, I don't need that, as I can push it from camera, or not even bother (which I prefer). The price is great, and picture quality is incredible and the brightness, well, this just slays anything else on the market (and those are all double the price or more). If you're a one man band, run & gun or shoot outside, this is a GREAT monitor to choose.

This is the perfect field monitor for the Panasonic GH4 (or any DSLR or Mirrorless camera.) I looked all over Amazon and narrowed it down to a few brands, but Feelworld had a much larger selection of monitors and a ton of accessories. I had a few conversations with them prior to buying and ultimately decided to buy the ultra bright FW279 model. After using it for a week, I can say it's the best field monitor I have ever used! Feelworld customer support is very helpful and they are now a brand I trust. I plan on buying a second monitor and a bunch of their accessories that go with the monitor. One special feature that no other field monitor in this price range has is the incredible performance outside in direct sunlight. The screen is so unbelievably bright outside it makes it easy to film scenes under sunlight. See the attached photos on this review that show the brightness of the Feelworld FW279 outside in the sun, and compare it to the LCD screen on my Panasonic GH4. The GH4's LCD screen is very dim when sunlight hits it, but the Feelworld monitor stays super bright which will be so helpful when filming an outdoor scene. Thanks again Feelworld for answering all my questions, for your excellent service, and for this amazing product at such a reasonable price. You have gained a customer for life! Also, for the reviewers having an issue with the audio, when you record on your camera with the monitor connected, you must mute the audio on the monitor. If not you will record an echo. Just turn the volume all the way down on the monitor and then press record. And when you want to watch the video on the monitor, then you can increase the volume to hear the audio!
