It's nothing special it's just a plastic disc. Often called a "dork disc" because if you're derailleur is adjusted correctly you don't even need it. I painted mine red so I could have another red accent toward the back of my bike. Yippee! Too cool!

Ordered this after having the same problem with another seller... twice.Same issue. Everything says the inside diameter is 37mm. The actual parts measure 39mm.I even checked to see if the "fingers" would compress when installed. Nope.Other dimensions are ok. This appears to be a quality part. Just won't fit a 37mm hub.

Saved my spokes once already when my chain popped off. Of course I re-adjusted the low limit screw, but the wind blew my bike over and it fell on the derailleur.Glad I had it on...
