It's a well made base. Will have to cut a bit off of the length to make it work on an 870 20 gauge compact youth which I planned on doing anyway.

I put this on a Sun City single action 12ga (aka Stevens 301) after drilling and tapping the barrel, and so far it's been absolutely outstanding. Too bad the barrel doesn't come already drilled and tapped... but ok, this is about the rail, not the barrel. And the rail's outstanding.

Unless you’re drilling after you get the pic rail, then it’s ok. Otherwise, the holes on this doesn’t line up with stock screw holes.

Solid rail but does have a slightly higher profile.

This rail fits my 20 gauge 870 perfectly. I mounted a Sig Sauer Romeo red dot scope on it and the set up is very secure which is super important. I've had scopes fly off and hit me on the face before. I am satisfied.

I had this installed on my 870 by a gunsmith as I needed the receiver to be drilled and tapped for it.It seems like it should have 4 screw holes, but it has 3 and after being installed, the 3 screws hold it rock solid in place. This rail, along with a Magpul SGA 870 stock with the additional 3/4 inch riser, gives me a perfect cheek weld and sight picture when using a red dot or the ghost ring sights on my 870. Wish I did this years ago.The ghost ring sights and shell holder you see pictured were also purchased here on Amazon. Do you really need a picatinny rail for a shotgun, no, probably not. But does it look cool? Definately. Put this on my H&R Pardner, which is an Remmy 870 clone. Had to move 2 holes, but wasn't too complicated. I took my time and used my drill press with one larger bit, and one smaller one to keep the screws inset. Little bit of matte black spray paint on the two holes I drilled out, and looks phenominal! And at a great price! Thanks.
