This is a good little compact compressor.While the advertisement reads “5.7” This is not ideal for my 1999 Chevy 5.7 liter because I had to drill out the silver plate to fit over the stud bolts.It is easy to use and way cheaper than some of the compressors out there.It is plenty durable to do the job.It works.

Ordered this to help my son swap a new cam into his 2002 5.3, replacing valve springs as part of the project. The tool is well enough made and worked out great. I did buy a compressed air valve holder to use in conjunction and when purchasing that I noticed a lot of sellers are combining this compressor and that air hold open as a set.Price-wise wise it worked out to be the same as buying one of the sets, so nothing lost there. If you have a compression tester you can probably rig up an air fitting to accomplish the same thing. These LS motors are like legos, and YouTube is happy to show you how to use one of these compressors. If you're on the fence about tossing a cam in your LS - just do it.

Used to disassemble a set of 853s for upcoming port work. Straightforward and simple to use while head sitting on the workbench, should work just as effectively with the head still on the engine. Fit stock retainers well. Per another review, curious to see how it fares w/ higher spring rates during reassembly, will try to remember to update when that happens.

This is a nice, compact, head mount valve spring compressor for LS engines. The machining of the parts seems to be good and the materials are decent. I plan on doing a valve train upgrade on an L76 engine soon, so I will be trying this out and I hope that it works well enough.

It's an amazingly easy tool to serve up and use! Its cuts the job time down by 1/3 of the time! No more holding the spring down with one hand and working with the other!

Great functionality it the key to success with this tool. Pictured are the pieces ot is shipped with. It is not necessarily used in how it is assembled. It comes with a nice spacer to make it versatil on all the LS heads. It works great for stock valve spring replacement. I also like the size of this tool because it fits well in my tool box. A good value for the money and it makes quick work of the job.
