This trims things up nicely. Even if it dulls overly quickly, I have gotten my money worth because it is a really low price.

I'm starting to use my laser engraver to cut out mdf templates, then attach it to quality hardwood. Using a bit like this allows me to cut out those shapes from the hardwood. It makes clean cuts and has lasted through a couple projects so far. I'm happy I got it

Got this to use for cutting edges and clearing out slots with my Dewalt router on my woodworking projects. Even though it is marketed as a CNC bit it works just fine as a router bit for a handheld router. The bit worked well and has held up well despite me being relatively new with running a router so I haven't always used it as intended and not breaks or bends in the bit. Satisfied with the performance and will continue to use it.

If you aren't familiar with a compression bit, it has a down cut and and upcut half, so that both side of the boards are cut towards the center of it, insuring clean edges. It crosses over the midpoint of the bit, meaning you need to center what you're cutting in order to have the benefits. If you have something 1/4" thick it could be challenging to do that, but something greater than that, up to 1" thick, the length of the cutting edge, would be easier. This is solid tungsten carbide so it's strong and sharp. It makes clean cuts, and is perfect for the hand held router. It's a good bit and if you haven't used a compression bit a try, this is a good way to try one out.

I have a similar bit that is down-cut, but it ejects chips out and everywhere. I tried this up-cut style and the chips go right into my dust collector. These bits are great for profile jigs where you make the same trim cuts repeatedly. The bearings are smooth, though the tip is a little different at it appears to have an encapsulated retaining ring. It has the fancy blue coating, not sure if it helps but hopefully it will last a while.
