While the segments can be joined by an individual, the task is still a job better managed by two. The wells are useful, but can be skipped where the fixation has a stud at its position. Beyond that, I note that segmentation may make the perfectly linear placement a bit harder. My handrail had the most minor sway of a few degrees in one segment and even if only diverting the segment maybe 3 mm, this still assumes a less ideal appearance. The handrail is as strong, but the fitting is not designed to guarantee a zero degree diversion and a segment of maybe 3 feet or more in a 10 foot railing can appear 'jointed' akin to bamboo, but without the bulging by the augmentation of the segments as not as much a uniform run without any angulation.
