Tried to use the typical 'tub spring expansion' tool to spread the spring outward, but the metal is too soft. Bent and i could never get it to hold enough to expand the spring appreciably.My existing/old spring clamp worked fine with the same tool.

Maybe buy the installation tool, this was a pain tonput on without it.

While the product was as described and the end result was a snug and perfect fit, it was a bear to get on. But with a little ingenuity and extra tools, was able to get it on in under 30 minutes. Match wasSpot on.
