Screw came with visible signs of use, definitely a return. The box it came in fell apart dropping it onto the floor upon opening the bag they came in. I don’t know if it’s even worth connecting after the first impression

So all the good things about it are that it looks nice, is quality in material and is good enough for outdoors in it's waterproofness and its heat and wind resistance. The connectors it uses are all waterproof and it has alot for me to hook up to. This is being used as a breaker box for the solar powered electrical system in my self built trailer and food truck. It's designed like a house which is why I want a breaker box that looks like it could go on the side of a house.and so I needed a breaker box with multiple hook ups and one that can be outdoors and one that can be waterproof. This is absolutely perfect and I have no complaints. I was reading about whether or not this meets certification requirements but that was the first time I even thought of the concept of a certification requirement for a solar power system. I am not an electrician so I could care less about certification. The unit boasts a 30 amp power rating and has 4 circuits for me to tap into and looks like it costs a lot more then what they're asking for it. It's pretty enough for me to display it on my trailer and is an essential part of my solar power system. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Excellent little combiner unit.

I acquired this breaker box to share solar panel output with multiple battery chargers at a remote location. The box is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic, which has excellent impact resistance, high strength/stiffness; and good electrical insulating properties. On the negative side, ABS degrades when exposed to sunlight (UV) becoming brittle and discolored over time. Even though the listing advocates for outdoor use, limiting UV exposure will greatly prolong the life expectancy of this box.Internally, the box is beautifully wired to supply one input or output connection to one terminal of the two-pole breaker. Because of the way it is wired internally, you can wire it up it however you like, just keep track of polarity for each input/output pair. The box is wired with MC-type connectors, which are commonly used in solar electric systems, making it easy to integrate this box into your system. The box comes with 8 additional male/female MC connectors to make hookup and disconnections quick and easy. MC connectors are quick to install simply by stripping the wire, crimping the metal sleeve (male or female) and then assembling the connector (female or male). If you have never done it before, just type in “assembling MC connectors” into your favorite search engine and you will be swamped with how-to videos. The breakers themselves are DZ47Z molded case type installed on a DIN standard guide rail in the box. They carry the CE Marking, which is a European self-declaration of product conformity. The CE mark means that the manufacturer takes full responsibility for the compliance of a product with all applicable European health, safety, performance, and environmental requirements, but there is no governing organization that tests or certifies that the product meets the applicable standards. The CE mark is not recognized in the US. There is no listed US NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) marking on the device. (You can see a full list by searching for “NRTL” on OSHA’s official dot gov website). I strongly recommend that you check with a certified electrician and/or your local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) to be sure this device is acceptable for your intended application.Ignoring the lack of certification and weatherability, the unit looks well made. If you have an application which does not require either of the aforementioned shortcomings, this disconnect/breaker box may work for you.

My previous solar setup had 2 x 400+ volt strings running about 16 amps each in full sunlight. Each string was made up of two smaller strings combined in parallel using a MC4 Y-connector and then a 200 foot run to the breaker switches that feed the charge controllers. Whenever I needed to work on the strings, I had to flip th breakers off in the garage then walk the 200 feet out to the field to work on the panels. Then, to test my work, I had to walk 200 feet back into the garage to flip on the breaker. By installing this box out by the panels, I'm able to safely shut down the current going to the controller without having to walk all the way to the garage. Also, the 4 in 4 out capacity is perfect for exapansion as I'm planning on adding at least one more string in the near future.

Uhmf! Much heavier than expected. Until I have my system(s) up and running, I can't say a lot about this unit - or any other really, I'm not an electrician. So far though, I don't see anything with this unit that is likely to stymie my plan, such as it is and isn't; I'm trying to keep things as flexible as I can, there isn't a real budget to work with so it's also a 'game' of slow acquisition, one piece at a time; 100 bucks isn't unmanageable, and 4 strings should be more than enough.
