This is the correct size to use for plumbers. I’m not a plumber but this size bit is the correct size to go through studs. This size will allow you to fit the pipe in snug using the the adapter that holds the pipes in place. It’s sharp and effortlessly goes through the wood studs.

Very sharp and cuts well BUT the spiral tip is WAY too aggressive. Using it with my hand drill it just about sprained my wrist the first time I used it. With my drill press even with the piece of wood clamped down the bit will jam up in the wood and cause the drill press belt to slip. Nice idea but an thumb down on execution of the idea.I wound up grinding the tip down to a small point like on a brad point drill and now it works well.

Love the self feed tip, I would rather be pulling back then pushing when I’m drilling & this bit does it’s job well.
