This is a comfortable office/gaming chair.Well made with better than average materials (thicker steel, faux leather). The chair is heavy at 45 lbs - again a reflection of better materials. Overall the chair looks nice - it'll not be mistaken for a leather upholstered chair, but is suitable for any office workspace.Assembly took about 15 minutes - the instructions (pictures) are easily followed. The included Allen wrench is substandard - soft iron - and stripped about half way through the assembly. Would recommend having a backup Allen wrench on hand. The bolts used are well made steel with thread locker applied so they should not work loose. The chair is comfortable - the seat height can be up to 24" (6" higher than many chairs) and the armrests go up to 33 1/2" which allows the chair to fit to higher tables and fit a taller person nicely (6'2"). No issues adjusting the pitch, back angle, or armrests. (To adjust the locking of the back push the lever in - this was not super clear in the instructions.)Overall a great office/gaming chair - comfortable, made with better than average materials, sturdy, and can adjust to higher than normal positioning. Highly recommend.

I saw a lot of rave reviews about the ThunderX3 Core, and was really sold on the adaptive lumbar that moves with you that I have never seen in other chairs. While doing my research, I saw that the Core is a wider & taller model (lowest listed user height is 5'3"), but the Core Smart was smaller with manufacturer saying the height range is 5'1"-6'3". I'm 5'4", so I chose the Core Smart even though it unfortunately lacked the seat tilt feature the Core has. I requested it and was given the chair as a birthday gift, and really wanted it to be great... but...The chair was a disappointment, because the fit on my particular size body is neither comfortable nor remotely ergonomic. (I've returned it, and I will be getting a remanufactured Steelcase Leap v2 instead.)1) On lowest setting, my toes barely touch the floor. I noticed the casters are larger than standard office chair casters - I suppose you could reduce the height a smidge by changing to a smaller caster, but I doubt it would make a huge difference in height, and maybe you need the larger size to support the weight of this beast. I do have a footrest, which at least helped the feet be in a better position, but this made an even worse angle for my knees, (see #3 below), and so wasn't a help overall.2) The seat is adjustable forward/backward, but even at the shortest setting, it went all the way to the back of my knees, and was uncomfortable against my legs.3) There is no seat tilt adjustment on the "Core Smart" model. BUT, for some reason it seems to have a bit of a built-in incline angle where the seat is thicker/higher towards the front, thinner at the back, so my hips were actually sitting LOWER than my knees. Knees should be at a 90 degree angle or MORE. The tighter angle put pressure on my lower back, causing pain, and also on my legs, which started to go numb after a short period of use.4) With all of the above, the only way to get my lower body in a comfortable situation was to perch forward on the chair with my back not even touching the backpad... I'd be better off sitting on a yoga ball.5) If I do sit all the way back so that my back is supported by the lumbar, one positive is I do like the movement and shifting of the lumbar as you lean and move, since I am a fidgeter; it is a great feature I'd love to see in a smaller chair...6) Everything else about the back rest fails for me. The headrest hits really high; pushing my neck forward uncomfortably. If I add the foam neck cushion, it supports my neck but then my back is no longer in contact with the deeply concave back pad. I should have paid attention to advice I'd read that shorter people should skip headrest chairs... I was just too attached to the idea of the cool lumbar support to pay any heed.7) Armrests - when first installed, they were way too widely spaced, but I was able to adjust the screws a bit to a narrower fit. This improved, but didn't solve the problem - they were still just a tad too wide to be comfortable. But I was able to use the angle adjustment to the angled-out setting to bring the bottom of the armrests a little closer to my body. Not greatly comfortable that way, but made them at least usable. But then I started getting neck pain in one side that I think had to do with my arms being extended unnaturally.8) With all of the problems I've already stated, all of the adjustability options were really pointless for me. There was no really comfortable position for reclining, and you have to use a lot of force to get the recline to start reclining, and then it felt like I was fighting the strength of the chair to try to keep it in the right position... so much effort to try to just sit in a chair.9) On the plus side, I got the sense that all the parts were really well made and the chair itself is solid and durable. I liked the shape and cushiness of the armrests. The fabric and cushions are soft. But solid and durable in a chair this size also evidently means extremely heavy. I'm on carpet, and there's no way I could move the chair a few feet away just by pushing with my feet - there is no gliding anywhere on this chair. I would need to stand up and manhandle the thing to push it where it needs to go, fighting against the friction of the carpet - and I don't even have a deep pile carpet.10) Considering all of this, I don't see how in the world someone 5'1", fully 3 inches shorter than I am, could possibly use this chair for any length of time. I really don't know whether taller people would like it (my 5'6" husband only tried it briefly, but didn't like the way he felt sunken in, unable to sit more forward at the keyboard, and my 5'10" son tried it and said the headrest was uncomfortable). Anyway most reviews seem to be geared towards the average to above-average size man, so I hope this review will help any shorter folks out there who are considering this one.Not recommended.
