I have a small vise that’s part of my table-top drill press that I have used in a pinch, but I’ve always wanted a larger stand-alone vise and I could not pass up the value of this 6” vise. They certainly cost more at the hardware stores.I ordered the 6” vise because the anvil surface on the 3.5” vice is too small. This vise is big and heavy. The full length closed is 13”, the jaws are 6” long and can open to 6 3/4”, the anvil surface is 3 5/8” square and the whole thing weighs just a hair under 20 lbs (pics). The only other thing in the package is 3 nuts and bolts to anchor it to a table. I am remodeling my worktable and I currently have a grinder in the spot where I’m going to put this vise, so I have not mounted it yet. The swivel base moves unhindered and securely locks in place and the vice jaws move smoothly in both directions. The unit I received appears to have a repair done on one of the anchor holes on the base (pic). All non-powder coated surfaces have a thin layer of oil coating them to deter rust. I’m looking forward to using this on my next project.

This vice is just like all of the other similarly sized heavy duty vices I've used and bought before. This can generate a lot of force and grip. It's heavy and made of thick steel. It can be (and should be) bolted to a table or workbench. I have not noticed any quality issues, it appears well made all around.
