Your cart is empty.The Cold Steel® Kris series, which includes a sword and dagger, is something we hope all practitioners of Filipino martial arts and sword aficionados will approve of and want to add to their collection. The blades are made from 1055 carbon steel with a hard spring temper. They are satin polished and come fully sharpened. In profile, our Kris blades feature a moderately undulating blade shape with three concave curves and a long, descending spear point found on almost all Kris swords. This blade shape strikes a good balance between cutting power and thrusting ability and the sharp, sturdy points cut well at extreme range, but are acute enough to pierce efficiently. The base of the blades terminate in traditional, decorated “file cut” flanges with the shorter protecting the finger and the longer protecting the thumb wrist and lower forearm.

At first I thought it was a replica sword. I need to hang this on my wall for display only. Turns out it was a real sharp sword. Not the traditional sheath but it was made of wood wrapped in thin leather. Neatly done, no sharp edges poking out of handle or guard to hurt your fingers. More like a sheet metal but hardened well, not so balanced but I didn't buy it for chopping or for sharpness test. I think it is functional but not ergonomic. I am happy to have it.

I got mine on sale for a little over $110. So if you ever see it for that price, definitely get it. There was a previous review I saw that someone posted about part of the guard digging into their hand and being super uncomfortable. At the time I just assumed that guy had girly hands. But that guy is totally correct. There are some sharp parts on the bottom part of the guard that your hand touches and they do cut you.

Looks great seems to handle well except there was a sharp edge on the retaining band( which in this case I think is purely cosmetic) cut my finger on first test swing. I would have just removed it but not paying full price. Would have giving 5 stars but GSM needs to up the quality control.

I love this product. I'd never heard of or seen a Kris sword before but I'm so happy to have one now. It's beautiful and I love it's curving blade. That'll leave a Big Mark. I just love collecting swords. It ties in with My History Fanaticism. My next purchase will be either a Wakazashi or a Viking sword. I wouldn't mind finding a good Spartan sword just like the one that they used in the movie "300".

Nice little sword, good balance, came sharp, looks good, here's the but, and why it only got three stars, the Scabbard is awful, it doesn't fit the sword well, it's dangerously tight, and I don't even know if it's something that I'm going to be able to fix. Would have been much better off with a looser fitting Scabbard, or one made out of some other material. I understand cutting costs on a sword of this price range, but seriously why put something in that is just unusable, it doesn't look good, nor is it even authentic to this style of sword. Cold Steel really needs to step up their game, if I hadn't of got it on sale it would have been going back. Tried multiple times to get scabbard to work, absolutely worthless.

Love the sword. Nice and sharp. Great quality for the price. Scabbard was way too small for the blade and cracked a lot putting the blade in the first time. After a few sheathings it fits much better. I bought some stain markers and satin paint to repair it and now it looks good again. Still recommend it though. Cuts great
