Autarchs are renowned for their strategic brilliance, sublime martial skill and indomitable strength of will. Long have they trodden the Path of the Warrior, wearing the ritual masks of countless Aspect Warriors and yet never once slipping into the trap of obsession. Instead, these peerless leaders now walk the Path of Command. Wielding tactics mastered across millennia of battle, they apply all that they have learned to their command of the Asuryani warhosts. This kit builds one Autarch equipped with Swooping Hawk wings, a devastating fusion pistol, lethal mandiblasters, and an elegant Aeldari sword which can be used as a Banshee blade or a star glaive. This miniature is also fully compatible with components from our other plastic Autarch kit, offering a dizzying variety of potential combinations. This set comprises 9 plastic components and is supplied with 1x 32mm Citadel round base. This miniature is supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints. An updated datasheet for using the Autarch in games of Warhammer 40,000 is available as a free download on the Warhammer Community website.

In terms of gameplay, the Eldar Autarch functions a bit like a Space Marine Captain; he leads by example and inspires surrounding troops to perform their jobs better (basically dudes near him re-roll dice rolls of 1 when they try to hit enemy units). The gear this kit has him set up with makes him hit fast and hard, though he pretty much only contributes directly in or right outside close combat. This can make it somewhat challenging for any of your dudes shielding him to properly protect him if he's up in the thick of it, made worse by his paper-thin space elf toughness. For people concerned about his well-being, he can leave the battlefield and redeploy elsewhere, making it relatively easy to get out of dodge in an emergency.All-in-all, he's a decent HQ choice that is fantastic for armies that like to house a lot of Aspect Warriors, though outside his re-roll aura buff, he doesn't have the ability to directly support your units in the same way a Warlock or Farseer can. For hobbyists just looking for a fancy model, he is a great looking plastic mini who's wings and cape can offer lots of creative painting opportunities!

Good kit, you'd need to kitbash to do any customization, but the parts it comes with are crisp and nice.
