Looks, good despite a slight bow, and is very sturdy because I mounted the brackets to studs.Instructions would have been helpful, such as:*Should you mount the brackets to the wall first or to the rail first. (I chose mounting the brackets to the wall first since I wanted to screw into studs.)*Best height range for mounting.*Tips for best results, such as leveling if mounting horizontally.

I’ll give these handrails two stars, and I feel like that’s generous.First, the material— they feel very lightweight and cheap. It’s my own fault. I should’ve read that they were made out of pine. Because of the cheap material, they have a very weird, hollow sound when you are rubbing your hand across them going down the stairs. Also, One of them arrived dented. And the finish is very cheap and minimal. They also have a slight bend in them. I expected a much higher quality for almost $300 to purchase.Second, the length — I spent a significant amount of money to get a 15 foot handrail, and was delivered three 5 foot sections. This is my biggest disappointment. I could’ve just went to Home Depot and got a 15 foot handrail that was made of oak for about half the price. NO WHERE does it say it comes in sections and the pictures are very deceiving seeming to show very long, continuous runs.Third, the hardware — they didn’t send the right amount of screws for the brackets. I was missing quite a few longer screws to drill in the studs and had way too many smaller screws to screw to the handrail. it also would’ve been nice to have three brackets, instead of two, for each section. I ended up ordering more brackets from a different seller to match. The only positive thing I will say, is that I like the style of these. They look more modern than a traditional handrail. That being said, I had to do it over again, I would just go with the traditional, more solid, less expensive option available down the road.

If you're a handy person this shouldn't be hard (45min. - 1 hour instal) It took a long to arrive but it was worth the wait - I didnt find anywhere else selling this wood grain to match my home. Its very important that you do screw the brackets into the actual studs behind the wall and not rely on wall plugs. At least one of three bracket holes should be hitting a stud (1 per bracket) I couldn't get all 3 bracket holes to line up with studs but was able to get 2 of 3 (2 per bracket). Do it properly and you'll have a railing for life. My dad had a stroke and lost some mobility so this railing has helped tremendously. He can now go up and down the stairs without help. Its been holding up really well especially thats its being held by studs and not just wall plugs. Best of luck!

This the second one I've ordered from this company. The handrails are beautiful and well made. They are also easy to install. People visiting my home have commented on how nice they look. I'm getting ready to purchase another one. I have "low vision" and these handrails make me more confident getting around my home. Do be aware it takes a few weeks to receive them, but they're worth waiting for!

I bought the 8 ft because it said it was a one piece but I got 2 pieces. The quality is not bad but there was some damage to the handle. I bought this for the basement so it will be painted. It is sturdy but don’t be fooled regardless of size you buy, unless really small, you may get 2 pieces.

Totally impressed by the quality, ease of installing and it's function. It's as advertised. This made going up and down the stairs safer for me and my wife as we've moved along in age. I ordered this small one first to test it out. I just ordered the 10 foot section for the final rail going from the second to first floors.

Minus 1 star for delivering the wrong size staircase handrails. I ordered 2 separate handrails, 6 ft and 8 ft. I received 2 different sizes (shorter). I was offered a full refund and to keep one. Fortunately, 1 handrail, although and inch shorter, still worked out. Because of this, I gave them another chance and re-ordered the 8 feet again. Specifically, clarifying the 8 feet=244 cm just to make sure. Reviews pointed out they only shipped in 6.5 ft increments. I receives a 7 foot 10 inch bar! I contacted them and made it right with refunding partially to make up for the lack of inches.Minus Half a star b/c I had to pay for return shipping $75 to return 1 handrail for something that was not my mistake.Minus another Half star because All handrails came with some nicks from shipping. Fortunately, nicks were on 1 side, so I flipped the rails so that the nicks are now facing the wall, hidden.Pros:Although, a slow process and hassle for the mistakes above, the wood and hardware look nice. My husband and I mounted both rails. It takes some skill level to measure and make sure hardware are evenly spaced and hung at the right angle. Takes 2 people to install. 1 to hold it while the other is drilling. Tip: Husband used different ribbed drywall anchors from IKEA which were a better and stronger plastic than the ones that came with the hardware installation kit. Otherwise, hardware came complete with what was needed to mount the rails.Customer service ended up being helpful with fixing the issues which was appreciated.

I ordered 3 of these rails for my parents. My parents needed handrails for safety reasons but they wanted them to look nice...not like shower safety bars. They wanted wood. These are beautifully crafted, sturdy, and worth the price. As it turned out, my parents could only use one rail but they didn't tell me and I didn't find out until the return period had passed. I contacted the vendor and they made an exception to the return policy and allowed me to return the two unused rails, fully refunding my purchase, including the return shipping. They didn't have to do this. I am very impressed by this product and the seller and would buy from them again.

When placing my order I got the impression that I would receive the railing in the two day Prime window. After the order went through I was notified that it would be a month before receiving it. Then it was extended to a two month period. But as it turned out it was a month. This was my first time at installing a railing and it took me longer than some one who knows what they are doing. My railing is installed and is a solid fixture. There railing came with all the mounting hardware. I did however use longer screws than what was provided to mount the brackets to the wall and I used the screws that were provided for attachment to the wall to attach the brackets to the railing for more stability. (My personal choice.) I drilled pilot holes in the railing for attaching the brackets to the railing to keep from splitting the wood. The railing was nicely finished and the color worked in the area where I installed it. I was disappointed that the paint on the hardware was flat black not baked on and was scratched during shipment. But that was easily remedied.
