Sturdy enough when finished but only by using different hardware as mentioned by others. Don't even bother using the provided metric allen wrenches as they are worthless. Buy longer bolts & stainless flat-washers so you can really tighten everything (the included recessed nuts will still work okay) and buy better concrete anchors and hammer bit.

This comes with everything to install on a concrete step, it has it for wood too, but I cannot comment on that because I did not use them. The concrete drill bit that it came with was basic and did not fit either of my hammer drills, but $8 got me a bit that worked. It was easy enough to put together, and install. Its very sturdy, good welds on the base, and the paint finish was very good.

I needed to install handrails on my front steps for insurance purposes, and I was on a deadline. Contractors weren't moving fast enough to fabricate rails, so I had to purchase them for installation. These were adequate. However...the cross bar on one of the kits was cut TOO SHORT! The contractors were able to go back to the shop and fabricate a piece to finish the job for me, but it was frustrating just the same and cost me more. Also, the holes to attach to the hinges didn't line up, but that could be because of the steps themselves, and a simple drill fixed that. I don't know what kind of QC these undergo, but in the end they look great and are sturdy. They just required a little extra work to install.

This package arrived with rails and all the hardware needed to mount. Moreover it contained the masonry bit and other tools to install. One note, my stairs were not a standard pitch and the inner rail did not fit.

The fastening bracket to secure the railing was damaged. The bracket attaching to the concrete was bent but usable. One of the covers for the fastening bracket was damaged and not usable. I don’t expect that it will last 20 years, but it will do the job for quite awhile before rust takes its toll on the bracket. For the money it did what I needed it for.

My husband was pleasantly surprised when the handrail arrived. It was easy to assemble, all the fixings were good quality plus mini spirit level, ruler, pencil. Due to the shallowness of our steps he had to add some blocks to achieve the correct level.

This is a well designed hand rail used on my deck stairs. Solid metal construction makes me think this will hold up well. Instructions are good and the price is very reasonable.
