These are simple and functional. Gerat for training and should be great in the field if triple locks are not required.

I use these in conjunction with safety straps (going around a tree) and a safety harness vest while archery hunting from a tree. They allow me to easily clip the carabiner from the harness to the loop on the tree, and with their rating, will ensure I don't crash into the ground should I fall off the tree stand.

TLDR: Would buy again!I used these carabiners with 1500lbs of force in one of my rope systems. No problems!Pros:~ Lightweight~ Durable~ Gate works just as well as other brands. Glides open very easily~ Zero damage or marks on the paintCons:~ Only comes in a clear plastic wrap without any informational materialNotes:Carabiners are awesome to have handy, especially for a DIY'er. Just note, this style of gate opening is much less efficient than screw locks. (You will most likely need two hands for the auto-lock on these) Also, even though these auto-lock, always double check that the gate is actually shut. Failure to do so will significantly diminish the carabiner's strength rating or cause a rope to slip out.

Using these while roofing. Very lightweight and super strong. Catch is reliable. Well made.

All of my larger carbiners are heavy. Even my smaller 300 to 500 lb carabiners are "heavy duty"--emphasis on heavy. These carbiners are so light that I wasn't sure I ordered the right thing. While I can operate these with one hand, it's a bit of a learning curve. Practice before you need to use them, especially if you're left-handed or need to use your left hand to operate them ever. I find it awkward to use them with my left hand. You do not want to NEED to use them and be awkward with them. That said, all it takes is a bit of practice to get it down smoothly.I would feel safe using this with rope. There are no catches to grab on to the rope and tear at it. I've had this problem with some of my first carabiners. They had areas that would rub and tear at items. Depending on what your purpose is, that can be catastrophic. These carabiners do NOT have any such issue. The units are smooth and won't pinch or cut the hand. This is actually something I tested. I've been pinched by other brands--and cut--and appreciate that these don't seem to have that design flaw.Bottom line: Would I order again? Yes. If I could, I'd replace all carabiners (of this size) in my house and kits with these--even those for lightweight purposes. Personally, I don't like having any carabiners (for any purpose) in the house that aren't rated for at least 300 lbs. Would I gift? Yes, at this price, it feels like a steal.
