This smell so harshly of chemical. Would not buy again! They are going in the trash. Do not think it’s safe to proof Bread in these baskets.

I was reluctant to purchase a banneton at all . Now it love using them.These baskets with their cotton elastic cloth really are helpful. The bread falls out much easier then from a bowl. They also take up less room in the refrig for an overnight rise. I place the banneton in a large plastic bag and poof up the top for the night in the refrig. The bread dough stays moist and isn't stuck to the plastic.

These bread baskets are perfect for sourdough bread dough. I double line them with two sheets of paper towels before putting the dough in the refrigerator and that keeps the basket liner clean enough to not have to wash them after use. Love these baskets.

I have used these twice so far and they have worked just fine. I did use the liners. Washing them before use and air drying. They take up less space in the fridge than the bowls I was originally using. These 2 were perfect for my bread recipe using just about 1000g of flour. My only reason for 4 stars was because one came damaged but I managed to hot glue it together rather than return it.
