I have other paddle bits but Bosch is the best. Get these and you will see how Superior they are to what you have had.

Don't really think they go 10x faster then my old spade bits but they do go through wood rather nicely. Good quality bits in a decent storage pouch.

Cuts in the wood very fast. However, often got stuck and cannot get it back out. Had to use a socket wrench to twist it out.

These are the best spade bits I have ever used in my remodeling jobs.BUT....if you hit a nail, you'll "kill" them. It will break off the small cutting edges on the ends.But that's just a construction hazard and spade bits aren't meant to cut through nails.

I bought these during a lightning deal a few weeks ago. I already have a few spade bit sets; including the Irwin speedbor set of 8. I originally thought that the irwin's were the ones to beat, but these from Bosch completely blow thosee out of the water. I am familiar with bosch having previously owned their 12v impact driver and 12v drill driver; but replaced them due to being more impressed by Miwaukee m12. I turn to bosch when I need high quality hammer drill and sds bits. To me nothing works better than their blue-granite line of hammer drill and sds bits. So buying these I kinda knew that these would also be of great quality, but admittedly I did underestimate them.I have really only used these on 2x4 studs so far, and used a few on a workbench downstairs drilling holes in it for cable management. Just on those 4 or 5 uses I am highly impressed and will continually reach for these when I need a spade bit. Bosch makes high quality tools and accessories and I would recommend these to anyone from handyman/ weekend warrior to the professional. And I will continue to look for bosch in the future when I have a need.

Works well in wood. Grips and drills out quickly. What more do you want in a spade set? The pouch keeps them nice and organized in my tool box.

I opted for this set vs the slightly less expensive bare 6 piece set due to the case, since the demise of my last spade bit set could be traced to just knocking around in the tool box getting rusty. The case is worth the extra money.The case is stiff and solid and the bits fit in without any play. The bits themselves are some of the quickest most accurate wood boring bits I've ever used. I was working on a project that required a number of very accurate holes to line up with holes bored into steel. Having any tip run off or wander wasn't an option and not having to bore many small pilot holes made the job much quicker. Where ever you press the screw tip down is where it drills and a half inch hole is just that a half an inch. They drill quickly through 2" hardwood with very little kick as it breaks through the other side.A pleasure to use and worth the money, highly recommend.
