I have had good luck with back and decker ratchet straps in the past. These are terrible. They do not lock into place and they do not roll loose. Do not buy them. I would return them but I bought them over a month ago and just opened them.

Strap release does not release properly - I have to fight with it to withdraw the strap. Yeah, I am doing it right .. it's just that the mechanism is not really great quality.

I needed a light-duty set for a special project. These are heavier duty that I expected which was OK. They are very difficult to operate ad even harder to release and they have sharp edges - cut me. I know how to do it, do it all the time with normal and heavy duty rachet straps.

I tried out the Black and Decker BD1005 ratchet straps – For the price - I knew I wasn’t going to get premium ratchet straps with all kinds of bells and whistles. They are solid. Definitely arrived as advertised - black metal ratchets and dark orange straps with black coated hooks –arrived just like the pictures show. Worked great for the lightweight cargo project I wanted them for.
