Used this to replace a shifter on my son’s bike. It works but it seems a bit bulky. It keeps the brake handle too far back - I’ll likely need to replace the brake now to get it working like it was before.No issues with function or the product - maybe it’s just my application? Either way, doesn’t work great for every application.

I had s stock mongoose shifter that clicked and jumped out of gear and installed this and its shifts like a pro now, no issues installing it was easy. If u want a top of the line shifter the shimano revoshift is the one for you!

Don't get me wrong, I've come across plenty of genuine Shimano product that hasn't been that great. But this has me thinking like another reviewer that this might be a clone. I've got bikes that run several shimano running gear and this is probably the cheapest of them all. It's below Altus, Tourney, Acera, Deore and Alivio. It didn't come in the typical Shimano retail packaging either.That said, it does indeed work. Shifting is vague and ponderous but you know that's what to expect. Since the price is cheap, I imagine this will work for many people. I'm putting together a spare parts bike for a kid, so this will be perfect.
