About this item

  • Enhanced lever feel and precision
  • X01 Eagle Master colorway matches all cassettes and chains as part of the Eagle Colorsystem
  • Includes Discrete Clamp (Not shown in image)

Amidst the buzzing hype surrounding the new SRAM Eagle's 12-speed flashy cassette and chain designs, we'd be remiss to ignore the stellar functionality of the SRAM X01 Eagle 12-Speed Trigger Shifter. SRAM treats the X01 Eagle 12-Speed Trigger Shifter with as much detailed attention as the rest of the drivetrain and introduces well-executed updates that build on its 11-speed predecessor's success to get the most out of your ride. In addition to its ability to shift through a staggering 12-cog cassette, the X01 Eagle Trigger Shifter features a brand new internal shifting mechanism that results in a more precise trigger feel and smoother shift action compared to its 11-speed predecessor. It also still includes SRAM's Zero Loss technology for nearly instant shift response when you throw the lever heading into a steep climb or revving up out of a corner. The updated internals boast improved longevity, as well as the ability to upshift by five gears at a time. The shifter also comes with SRAM's Matchmaker compatibility, allowing it to integrate cleanly with the rest of your cockpit and letting you keep the shifter, as well as various suspension and dropper post remotes, arranged in one easy-to-access location on the bars.

It shifts better than my Nx, not huge difference but noticeable. (replaced because I broke the downshift lever off the original) Also some additional adjustments, that I haven't used. Fits around the brakes better.

Eagle X01 shifter is metal instead plastic and shifts way more precisely than the SX shifter. Nice upgrade.

Right out of the box you can tell it's a premium shifter over the stock GX lever that came with my bike. I like the I have the ability to adjust the swing of the down shift lever. The shifts feel solid and precise and quick. This is a great upgrade to the bike without breaking the bank. I strongly recommend this as an upgrade if you running SX, NX, or GX group set as it is compatible with all three.

It's a nice upgrade, the performance is awesome. I think it's like having DE xx1 without breaking the bank.

Updated Drivetrain. Paired this with GX derailleur and crankset. Used an XX1 Black chain. It's nice that Eagle is universal. I like the adjustment that can be made with the larger paddle on this shifter. Feels great.

It is heavier than say the NX but that’s because it completely made out of metal. Shifts are stiffer, crisper? I dunno it just feels sturdier. The downshift lever is adjustable and it seems like it sits lower or more forward than NX or GX. Also, I could swear that you can down shift 5 gears at a time which is better than NX and GX, in those you can only down shift 3 gears at once. Would recommend a very nice upgrade from what ever you have now.

I have mixed feelings with SRAM. Regardless of what people say, 1 chainring groupset are shipped OEM for cyclists with strong legs. The average MTB biker is going to have problems in very steep or long climbs. Only now SRAM put in the market a 1x12 groupset with a 0.64 ratio (32/50) or 0.60 (30/50) that is suitable by an average cyclist on such kind of climbs. Why did they not do before with 1x11 groupsets? Why is not there a 45t or 50t cog option for those? The answer is obvious, they want you to buy the whole Eagle groupset.... like me. I am getting strong feelings obout that and have decided my next bike will have a Shimano groupset. I see my friends owning Shimano XT 8000 laughing at me, they have the option of placing a 45t Wolf cog or a 42t cog in theirs old 2-3x10 groupsets. If you make some calculations you will find out that you can upgrade to almost the same range of an expensive Eagle system with your Shimano XT 8000 puting a 30t chainring combined with a 45t Wolf cog at a fraction of Eagle price. The same aplies to old 10 speed groupsets, you can upgrade to the same range of a 11 speed adding a Wolf 42t cog. Someting is fishy at SRAM
