I put it on my black Huffy Highland 26 MTB. Installed a altus m310 and it works. Huge upgrade from the stock tourney tz31.

Used this to upgrade a 6 speed Peugeot with a modern 7 speed indexed rear derailleur. Fit perfectly and hasn't had any issues with it bending yet

So, I'm an avid cyclist. And as such, I have a bin full of spares. Derailleurs, brakes, you name it. I also love crappy department store bikes. Sure they are junk, but with a little help, they can be made into great "townies" where you don't really care if they get scratched or dinged up, and in the event that they get stolen, you are only out $100.Sadly, my most current department store junker only made it about 40 miles before the rear mech decided it had enough of this cruel world and threw itself into the rear wheel. It's short life at an end I was left pushing the bike home not too terribly bothered because I have that box of spares in my garage. However, department store bikes tend to use cheeseball rear derailleurs that don't use a modern standard hanger. This brilliant little device replaces the crap-tastic department store rear derailleur that are integrated with the hanger which allows you put affix a higher quality rear mech. After about ten minutes of fiddling, I was able to install a retired Shimano XTR rear mech to my department store junker. The best part is, this battered XTR derailleur has improved the shift quality of my leaps and bounds. The irony is, when new, that XTR derailleur probably cost double what this entire department store clunker cost when I bought it new last summer.

This part is a little gold nugget! It enables you to install a higher-quality, direct mounting derailleur in place of the cheap axle-mounted style. If you want to upgrade a department-store bike or just add a derailleur to a frame that lacks a derailleur dropout, this is the part for you!It slips over the axle just like the cheesy derailleur it replaces, then is retained with a bolt and shaped nut. The axle nut clamps it in place. It has a 10mm threaded hole and a tab for the adjustment screw on your new derailleur.I obtained one of these for the princely sum of $1.69 from BikeWorldUSA, and since it was part of a larger order, the shipping was next to nothing.Very inexpensive, yet it's a major problem solver. It also opens up possibilities that wouldn't exist without it. I can't recommend this part highly enough!

Great fit with a Shimano Tourney TX55 derailleur, came with the install screw and is black as pictured. The derailleur did not have a hanger adapter so without this little adapter there was no other way to install it on a budget Supercycle frame. The bike is a 20" wheels kids bike and this combo worked great as an upgrade from a low quality Falcon/Enzo.Shipping was fast and arrived with no problem. Wish I had found it sooner.

While the item is perfectly functional for its intended purpose, be cautioned that the item that is shipped is all black, not silver colored. Doesn't affect functionality, but does affect esthetics. With hindsight I noticed this from at least one of the reviews below, but it would have been nice if I had known that before ordering it.

Works fine. Mine was black, but who cares, so is my bike. Its made of thick metal. I'm rebuilding an old Spalding Blade 12 speed with no hanger. Fit an old Shimano Alivio derailleur I had hanging around fine. The little do hickey that holds the mount to the bike prevents your axle from sitting all the way back in the drop outs so I just did without it for now. I am going to drill & tap a hole for it, so when I pull my back wheel the derailleur doesn't go flying. I would love it if it wasn't for the " $4 " shipping. I mean come on, it's just a little piece of metal for Christ sake ! Could have just thrown it in the box with the rest of my order ! I could have got brand new T-35 derailleur for $4 more !

Shipping companies don't work free..Most of the cost of these is in shipping SO I bought TWO of these. Both for about the same shipping cost as one.. With shipping two cost under 10 bucks or about 5 dollars each. Half of what I paid at another place....If you have a cheap box store bike with the axle mounted cheap rear Derailleur and you want to put a GOOD BOLT on rear derailleur on your bike this is WHAT you WILL need for Shimano and compatiable. It's a CHEAP FIX even with the cost of shipping..I bought the Shimano brand at another place. I got only 1 and paid shipping for a cost of about 10 bucks. TWO of these for that price means these are half price. If you buy TWO the second one is almost free..Keep one on hand. Never know when you will need the other one..I like installing GOOD parts on Cheap bikes and making them better. I bought an old used bike for 30 bucks, but 150 bucks into it and that baby rides smooth as my Trek 400 did...10 bucks ain't gonna break anyone. Yes, Get two of these while you can..
