Used for cutting holes for drainage in ceramic potting containers, works the trick, but requires lubrication to really cut well.

We bought this to add a standard drain to a stone bowl we had purchased, to turn it into a vessel sink. The cutter worked great. Some tips:Make sure you measure your drain flange before ordering. You want the cutter flange to be larger in diameter then sink flange, otherwise the sink won’t drain completely. If you’re trying to use a hand drill, make a guide by using the bit to drill a hole in a piece of wood. Then tape the wood down where you want the hole to be. This will keep the bit from skittering around when you start to drill. I just used painters tape to hold it in place. As long as you run it all the way along all four sides of the wood, it shouldn’t move. Once the cut is about an eighth inch deep, you can remove the wood guide.Make sure you have a continuous water source to keep the bit and the stone cool. I used a garden hose with just a tiny trickle coming out.

I got this bit because I needed to make a hole in my granite for a reverse osmosis system. I was able to make the hole needed, but it definitely took some time to get all the way through. I was using a 18V Ryobi drill. For $26 is this worth it? After 1 use it looks as though it didn't wear too much. I am hoping it can hold up over time and if it doesn't I will update this review.
