The drill bit works well, but there is a lip after the cutting surface and there is a lip at the top of the shaft where the thread for the connection is, so it is just about impossible to get core bits out of the drill bit. The cutting collar is thick, so it is not that fast cutting. Got a shorter bit with a slot to remove core bits and a thinner cutting surface and it worked much better.

I recently used the 4" Wet Drill Core Bit for a demanding concrete project, and it exceeded my expectations. Designed specifically for wet drilling, this bit offers a 10mm segment height and a 14" drilling depth, making it perfect for tackling tough concrete and hard masonry surfaces. The core bit provides smooth and consistent drilling even in the hardest materials. It cuts through concrete and masonry with ease, delivering precise, clean cuts every time. The 10mm segment height allows for enhanced durability, which means this bit will last through multiple tough jobs without wearing down quickly. The overall build quality is impressive. The bit is well-balanced and solidly constructed. Its 1-1/4"-7 Arbor fits perfectly onto the rig without any wobbling, ensuring stability during operation, which is crucial for accurate drilling.Using it in a wet-only environment helps manage heat and dust, contributing to a cleaner, safer workspace. The wet-drilling capability also extends the life of the bit, reducing wear compared to dry drilling. It's ideal for longer jobs where precision and extended use are key.The bit is designed for a wide range of tough materials, from reinforced concrete to hard masonry. I needed a 7/8 in. bit to core drill 3 in. concrete pavers for pool safety cover anchors. After a dozen holes drilled it is still in good shape. It took a while to get here (Canada) but was worth the wait.

... and you're looking at this product wondering if it can help you do it. The answer is YES but you will need to buy some extra equipment.I had to drill a 2.75" hole through about 12" of VERY HARD brick and this thing did the trick. Here's what else you need to buy:* #16 SDS Plus (TE-C) to 1-1/4" M Core Bit to Drill Adapter by BLUEROCK Tool* Diablo 1/4 in. x 16 in. x 18 in. SDS-Plus 2-Cutter* BOSCH 11255VSR Bulldog Xtreme 8 Amp 1 Inch Corded Variable Speed SDS-Plus Concrete/Masonry Rotary HammerI know what you're thinking: can I get away with just a normal drill? Answer is NO. I tried a regular drill and a regular hammer drill but become extremely frustrated quickly. The long pilot bit is really critical for when you get stuck deep in the hole. Get the core bit back out and send the pilot bit through several times.Other important tips:* Use the hammer mode. I know it says all over this page not to do that but I couldn't make any progress with out it. Used hammer mode and everything was fine, drill bit is still in great shape.* Lots of water. I would drill 10 seconds, spray tons of water, then drill another 10 seconds and so on.* Drill lots of pilot holes. If you get stuck just drill a bunch more little holes and break out some of the pieces stuck in there.* Don't let brick build up inside the core bit. Always shake it out or pound it out before you collect too much which can cause the bit to get stuck.$300-$350 worth of equipment to drill holes is a bargain compared to what I was quoted.Have fun!

I needed to make a 4" hole through a concrete block foundation. I chucked the bit into a 1/2" drill and started to drill. I did use a round wooden guide to help keep the drill on course. The drill dug in and quickly was cutting it's way through the 8" block. I stopped 2 or 3 times to wash out the cutting grove with the garden hose and to clean off the bit. Total cutting time was about 6 minutes! I was shocked at how fast this bit cut a hole! The hole was smooth through the block. The entrance hole and the exit hole were both cleanly cut with no chunking of the block when it broke through. I highly recommend this bit. I highly recommend the seller too, as the transaction was straight forward and the but arrived on time.

You can effectively use these big core drills without needing a costly jig drill. You do need water flush. When drilling a thick poured concrete wall you can drill a 1/2" carbide hole first, then feed the water in from the backside of your core into the cavity. It works just as well as a jig, without the cost. Don't even try a dry cut. Wet flush cuts solid concrete easy. I use a big ND magnet to locate the rebar to avoid that issue.

Pudimos hacer más de 5 perforaciones en concreto bastante fortificado. Siempre y cuando se utilize agua como agente enfriador y fuera de fricción. Cumplió con el cometido.

I Needed to drill through 8 inches of a granite stone for a 1 inch pipe. I kept cold water on during the drilling and the bit stayed nice and cool. It took some time ( about 40-45 minutes ) I bought an adapter to use with my drill but the threads were not long enough for the bit ( the Threads don't start at the top so 1 star deduction for that ). Luckily I also have a cordless Milwaukee grinder that fit perfectly. The grinder worked great and I was able to put a lot of pressure on it too without any overheating. I went through 4 batteries ( 5ah each ). I could have used a hammer drill and star bit for MUCH faster results but it would have blown out the rock on the other side. As other have said , you need to start the hole at about a 45 degree angle and then straighten up. The bit has plenty of life left too! Great drill bit.
