Just stared to use this narrow plane. so far it works well. Minor adjustment was needed at the beginning, otherwise all good.

Has a good weight - contours to the hand- I would suggest getting a flat head screwdriver for plain’s, the set screws must be properly torqued for best performance. Look at the 3 in 1 plain before buying this one!

This is a cute little shoulder plane that's just the right size for most furniture projects. Shoulder planes are handy for trimming the last few shavings off tenons to make the M & T joint fit just right. Overall the machining finish on the outer surfaces was pretty good. I don't expect much from a shoulder plane... it should just be easy to adjust and capable of quickly shaving down tenons.Well, the main problem with this design is there's nothing to keep the blade centered or otherwise aligned. Each time you adjust or sharpen the blade, you'll have to fuss with the Left-Right set of the blade. There are no set screws to hold the blades position. Another flaw is the blade is WAY TOO WIDE for the body of this plane. Shoulder planes are designed with a blade that is very slightly wider than the body, so it can clean out inside corners. However this design takes it way too far, and no matter how far you skew the blade, you can't avoid damaging the shoulder of the tenon. It's like trying to park an airplane in your garage. So, the only solution is to spend an hour grinding the sides of the blade down to a functional width. Otherwise, honing the blade was easy, and it took an edge well.PROS: Adjustable mouth is a nice feature on any plane. Simply loosen the brass screw, and slide the upper portion of the plane fore and aft to adjust.Good size for small to medium projects like chairs and tables.CONS: No tool-free adjustments. The screw to adjust the blade depth is soft, and is already starting to strip after a few days light use. The blade depth adjustment screw is too course, and very difficult to adjust.FINAL JUDGEMENT: This isn't a tool that will make you smile every time you pick it up. It isn't a tool you'll tell your friends to buy. Spend a little more and get a quality shoulder plane.
