The GUARD UP arrived exactly as shown in the pictures, and everything in the box was perfect—nothing was broken and there were no strange smells. The packaging was branded and presented, not just a cardboard box of bag, and I appreciate manufacturers who confidently stamp their brand on both the product and its packaging. This is how all quality items should be presented, and the GUARD UP does not disappoint.I got this for my 14-year-old son who plays baseball, and it really helps with shock absorption. We have a batting tee at home, and when I hit a few balls off the tee to see what the hype was about, I could definitely notice the difference. My son also mentioned that it provides a better grip on the bat, allowing him to achieve proper extension in his swing. This makes it easier for him to maintain the correct palm-up, palm-down mechanics since the bit of space the guard provides between the palm and the bat makes it much easier to extend at the end of the swing. The best part is that it stays in place! Unlike other products like Pro hitters, so this one is way more functional, and prohitters tend to be stiffer apart from sliding out of position in your palm, the GUARD UP is a very nice piece of equipment.

Ny baseball players like the weight and size of this as it rests easily on the web of their hands over their batting gloves. The material they used is soft which I think may absorb more of the impact than the one loop firm guards. It’s relatively early in the season to try against live pitching but this I looking very promising. May have to pick up another so all my boys can use it. BONUS: These are bigger and less likely to get lost unlike the other guards.

This thumb guard design is an upgrade on the previous design that my 9 year old was using. The previous/other model he had, only had a thumb hole while this one nicely wraps around your wrist padded area between your thumb and index finger and it is secured in place by the index hole as well. It is padded so that it pushes the bat little bit more in the fingers and it works well in the cold evenings in the late winter/early spring when kids don't hit the ball on the bat's sweet spot. Without one of these, my kid would feel it and he would be timid to swing the bat - worried about the shock. Not with one of these on. Highly recommend.
