This is an excellent file. Bahco chisels the file's teeth in mild steel really sharp, then does a good job of case-hardening the tool. I don't think they termper them - I dropped one on a concrete floor a few years back, and it shattered. That's OK, you aren't supposed to do that with a good file. I've used one of these little Bahco files to sharpen my two backsaws at least three times each, and it still works pretty well - I bought this one because nothing lasts forever.

The item is advertised as a saw - Bahco 4-186-04-2-2-4" Slim Taper Saw,Single Pack - it isn't. It's a file for sharpening saw blades. I'm sure it will do that but it's not great when you need a fine tooth saw for cutting things.
