I've read several reviews that mention dissatisfaction with the size of these files, so I have included a photo that might help future customers. At their widest, the widest files measure 3mm or 1/8" the actual cutting surface average is roughly 50mm or 2". Their full length is 4" of 100mm. These are mini files and should not be confused with mini files which as a rule are 75 to 100% larger than these. They feature a fine single cut and arrived in a plastic storage package that helps keep them clean and organized. These files do not come with handles. As with all files, they will perform much better if you use a handle. I recommend Starrett Ea 0049659506099 pin vice, but cheaper similar handles would probably be fine. I can pretty much guarantee that in your lifetime you will spend $10 on many tools that will prove to be not nearly as useful as this little set of files. They a sharp and hard, They cut fast considering their size. I build guitars as a hobby and use these to shape mother of pearl inlays, a material that is hard on files. This is my second set. Many of the original files are still in good shape but I have abused some of my favorites so now I have some duplicates. It was still worth the money to buy this set.

This arrived with one file broken in half. It just happened to be the one that I needed most but got the job done with the others. These were used for a sight installation. Seemed as though they weren't heat treated well.

I use these files on metal and they perform better that I expected. I mainly used the round and flat ones and I'm very happy with them. In regard to reports of the files being fragile and breaking, these need to be used with proper care given their size. Filing with a finger on the back of the file for support will help in preventing early breakage.

Had a set of these along time ago.. These are just as good... They come in very handy.. You can use them for pretty much anything... Because of the Different Shapes....

Got this to clean the contacts on my old school washer, worked like a charm, still going good 2 months later..Should it need more attention down the line, it WILL NOT be a problem, much cheaper than a new timer for $100 or a couple hundred for a new washer..So that being said if your washer is missing functions in its cycle, and you're looking for a file set to fix it, THIS IS IT LOOK NO FARTHER.
