The shoes are the best ever! I wore them while touring on a pilgrimage in Spain and Italy. They had wonderful traction on both unlevel brick walks and also rocky trails and muddy hiking trails. I would by them again and again!

I wear an 8, ordered size 8, but these were very narrow and my toes were smashed inside. Too bad, they were lightweight and cute

I've been looking for two years for a lightweight mid-ankle hiking boot for day hikes and finally found the perfect solution with the Avia Grit boots. So far I've worn on 3 short hikes along loose rocks, small boulders, sand, and muddy terrain to break in before longer hikes in Colorado. The boots keep me secure going uphill and downhill and don't slip or slide. They are super comfortable and accommodate my bunions without any pain. They are true to size. But, I have not worn in the rain, so can't report on their ability to withstand rain. They are just super and such a good value. Thank you Avia.

Gave these a try and liked so much, picked up a second pair. Usually wear a 6.5 or a 7, but sized up to a 7.5 to make sure I could wear thick socks - and also, my foot is wedge shaped, wide across the toe with a narrow heel. So with a slimmer toe shape on these, wanted to make sure the front of my foot wasn't getting pinched. Personally wouldn't wear these in rough terrain, but for light hiking and everyday (like trips to grocery or doctor) find myself reaching for these time and again. Think they would be good for city sightseeing too.With good socks, found them very comfy for my high arches, out of the box, even with planar fasciatis that flares up. Really like the protected feel of the plush ankle padding, and light weight. Has become a go-to, multi-season shoe. Will probably get a few more pairs to stash, because it's awful when a great product vanishes, and love these! As I've gotten older, I don't like flimsy shoes; these remind me of wearing dance training shoes with the high ankle; comfortable, protected, and secure.

These are lightweight basic hikers with good ankle support. So far I like them - a little bit large in the toes and a bit large overall so I'll need a thick sock. Look sturdy enough. I'll see if the loops for the laces hold out. A good basic shoe.
