Almost perfect. These boots are really comfortable. They have good ankle support, traction and tread. As for fit, my shoe size is women's 9.5. I usually get a size 10 in boots. After reading reviews I decided to order a 9.5 for this purchase. Good call. Fit is good and still have room for a light insole or heavier sock. I would give this a 4.5 star rating for one reason. I would like a thicker sole. These boots are perfect for pavement, dirt paths or gravel. The terrain here in northern New Mexico is sandy, uneven and with lots of irregular rocks. I feel every rock through the soles. Its not painful but for me it is annoying.

I returned this item because they had a tight fit. I have not received a credit to my credit card.

Slipped these on and they feel like they were made for my feet. I wear them almost everyday, it's been helping my feet and back pain.

These are absolute garbage. They are so cheaply made, and the soles are so thin that they should not be described as hiking shoes, boots, or walking shoes. I just wore them on a 5 km hike on a stone path (stones about 2-3 inches in size), and I could feel all the rock points through the boots because the soles were so thin, and my feet hurt. I bought the same brand of Eddie Bauer hiking shoes twice in the summer because they were fantastic, and I used them frequently on the same hike I did today. These are not even close to the same quality. The best way to describe them is a cheap knockoff for a "look." I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. I now question anything with the Eddie Bauer name on it.

I thought these ran a tad narrow across the ball of the foot. I do not have wide feet but occasionally mediums are slightly too narrow, and that was the case with this and a couple other Eddie Bauer models I tried. The quality seemed ok, not great, but reasonable for the cost. I did not keep them so I am unsure of their comfort or durability over time.

Bought these boots for hiking in Costsa Rica and also at home in the summer months. Have worn them for a few hikes and they feel comfortable and have lots of room which is good for me because I need to fit my orthodics in them. If I did not have to do this, then I would take a half size smaller then normal. The footbed has no arch support so you may want to put an insole in anyway and that is why I did not give them a highter score. I also like it that they are not completely water proof and so they breath better in hot weather but dry out fast if they get wet. Will see how they hold up in the long run.

First of all, after walking in the morning dew with these, my feet were all wet from the dew on the grass. They were a bit larger than expected but I knew this so for more comfort I put in a pair of padded insoles. These are no more comfortable than regular walking shoes so not more comfortable or waterproof. Might be good hiking shoes for trails where there is no grass, definitely not my backwoods. The one point I gave was for the fact that they are not slippery.

Nice looking, well made shoes but super wide. I have a slightly wide forefoot due to bunion but I don't have to order wide shoes yet. These were too wide in the toe box and the heel. The heel was so sloppy it was weird. The length was fine. There's also no cushioning that I could feel.
