Works as advertised. Saves time and effort. I went from turning on the dust collector, sawing, turning off the collector to just sawing. Now, the collector comes on when needed and turns off a few seconds after I'm done.

I purchased this vacuum switch to control my shop vac and some additional fans that I had placed inside of a soundproof enclosure. This vacuum switch works perfectly. When I turn on the vacuum, a second later, the fans turn on and help to cool the vacuum inside of the enclosure. When the vacuum power is turned off, The fans continue to run for seven seconds which helps to exhaust any hot air from the vacuum that might be inside of the enclosure. One comment about this vacuum switch is that the cable is pretty short. At 18 inches, you’ll need some sort of additional extension cord in order to connect AC power to the switch. One other comment is that the vacuum switch only has a single AC power cord. This means that both your vacuum control outlet as well as the power tool control outlet are both being powered from the same AC cord. So, make sure that the total power requirements of your two tools (vacuum plus other power tool) do not exceed the total power limits listed for this product. The footprint of the switch is pretty small and fits perfectly into my vacuum enclosure that I made.I also feel that the price charged for this vacuum switch makes this product a great value.Based on my usage of this vacuum switch, I recommend this product for your home shop with the understanding that your total power needs do not exceed the power specs of the product.T

Works great and does what it is supposed to do. It is so nice to use my miter saw without having to remember to turn the vacuum on first.

So I decided to make a ShopVac / Oneida Cyclone dust collection setup for moving around my shop and using with hand sanders etc. I can even hook it up to my table saw, router table etc. I am currently having to run everything off of a 115VAC 15 Amp circuit and this thing makes it so that all I have to do is turn on my tool that I'm working with and after about a 1 to 2 second delay, the dust collector kicks on. When I'm done, turn off the tool and several seconds later the dust collector turns off automatically. This keeps me from tripping breakers from turning them both on at the same time and drawing too much amperage. And the delay after turn off the tool lets the dust collector pull the remaining debris from my tool and hose before shutting off. Works like a charm. The only downfall is that there is only one plug for the tool to plug into and one plug for the delay (dust collector). This is easily solved by putting a power strip into the tool plug. Then, any tool that you turn on will then kick on the dust collector. You just have to remember to move the hose from the collector to whatever tool is being used. It has a couple of holes on it so you can mount it to a surface of something, like I did for my mobile dust collection cart. This does NOT have a wireless remote control. It is only triggered from the voltage draw of turning on whatever tool you are using that is plugged into it. But it works flawlessly and I would highly recommend for any situation where you need a second powered item to power on after a first power item is turned on and then turn off automatically shortly after the original tool is turned off. Price is great too.
