About this item

  • Sends your signal to either of two amps or both with foot control
  • Switchable transformer isolation helps prevent shocks and remove hum
  • Switchable phase invert helps make sure both amps are properly in phase
  • Switchable ground lift helps remove another potential source of hum
  • Always connected "thru" jack for use with a tuner or other piece of gear

The ART (No Suggestions) A/B-Y Switch with Isolation is a handy foot-operated box that lets you switch an instrument signal (guitar, bass, or keyboard) to either of two amplifiers or amp channels, A or B. The "Y" function sends the input signal to both the A and B outputs in parallel.

The isolation with our without 180° out looses tone. The a b y functions otherwise.

Yes, it does bleed over to the other amp. Less than others I've used. Works well though, doesn't need power supply, has a phase inverter, foot control works well, doesn't seem to suck tone too bad either.

I'm using a BF Princeton and a BF Deluxe Reverb. Both have Celestion Greenbacks. My guitar is a Fender USA Strat with Kinman Woodstock Pu's. I no longer need a two pronged adapter to fix the ground issue when using both amps, this unit has a ground switch. The phase switch really lets you hear when the speakers are not in phase. This pedal also doesn't need any power. It's built solid and for my gear it works fantastic.

I found it not eliminate the noises from the amps. I even turned on the ISO, it was better, but not enough. Iso transformer and phase inversion switch and it sounded like the amp was buried in the ground. The amps I used were Fender amps. I even tried Boss Katana amps. No change.. The sound felt muffled. I must admit it is well built and solid, to bad the sound and noises not the same.

Using this device - even when testing on a single amp - sucks the volume down. Exactly the opposite of what I purchased it for.

I did not at all like the fact that the switch only runs on battery. The battery is activated when a Jack is plugged in. This may be fine for use on the road but in the studio it is useless. Would have been great if it could accommodate the standard 9v external power supply.

Simply put... after agonizing over an isolating amp switch and nearly spending bigger money on a 'name', I stumbled on this and Amazon had it at the best price. I believe I got a restock because it was considerably cheaper. Only one drawback I can think of for someone else (not me)... no LEDs. But the rocker switches make it very easy to tell what is where at any given time. I also love that the Tuner out is always on... no bypassing... so if you wanted you could send that to a DI or something... I just use it for a tuner. Highly recommend for anyone on a budget.

The switch works both ways even though it's marked as one way, so the output will work as an input and the input will work as an output. I had a row with a sound guy who told me I had it wired wrong...

This is my fist A/B/Y switch so i went with the least expensive model I could find with good ratings. I use a Martin acoustic and a ukulele in the same sound system. It works great and no noise or loud clicking sounds when switching instruments. I only gave it 4 stars because it only works on battery power. There is no way to power it with a power cord. I almost sent it back because of this .. But I kept it. I used it at a gig and I'm thinking that the battery should last a while not to mention I already have three other things daisy chained to my effects board. SO the battery power my help to cut out hiss and other noise...

This pedal is fantastic -- I use it to switch between 2 effect chains before my amp (effectively the same as switching between two guitars into a single amp input). Switching is noiseless, even with high gain and distortion boxes emitting molten metal. This box is significantly cheaper than most ABY boxes out there. It's a little small and the buttons are kinda close together, but it's not a problem for me and my size 14 shoes. It seems sturdy and well-made.I'm not thrilled that it requires a screwdriver to change the battery, but hopefully the battery will last for eons as all it does is fund an LED (the switching circuit is passive). I'm hopeful it will operate fine without a battery, but I have not tried it.NOTE: Read the enclosed short and simple directions. I have seen several online reviews where people complained that the switch did not work for them, and they obviously did not read the directions (you have to reverse ins/outs depending whether you are switching 2 inputs to a single output, or switching a single input to 2 outputs).
