About this item

  • The Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick is long considered the FGC standard among joystick levers, and has enjoyed its lions share of performance mods and accessories over the years. OTTO DIY introduces a comprehensive kit whose goal is to enhance control through its use of unique materials and modular pieces that replace the existing parts of your JLF-TP, TP-SK or Hori Hayabusa Joystick.
  • "OTTO DIY Kit V5 - Japanese Version", made by OTTO DIY, is a very high quality product kit that will transform the normal Sanwa JLF to a joystick that feels extremely smooth, reduces throw and increase the feeling when doing 360 movement. Basically this is what the ultimate JLF would feel like.
  • OTTO DIY made each major plastic component of the kit out of Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE. It is commonly known as Teflon. Not only does this material give the kit components their unique color, but significantly reduces friction on components that must interact with each other. For example, the pivot and pivot core of the OTTO DIY kit will hardly need greasing, producing nearly fluid directional control.
  • Package include: Modular Joystick Body, FD Replacement Square Gate, BYD Replacement Rounded Gate, 12mm, 12.5mm, 13mm Oversize Actuators, Pivot Core, Pivot , Screw and Nut Set

Easy to install wish it came with grease but that's my only complaint for the price.

I modded my Hayabusa lever from my Hori alpa stick with this otto v5 and i can say that it provides the smoothness of the hori pivot with the square gate feel of sanwa jlf. Worth $35? No. You can get similar results by buying the kowal oversized actuator and put that in your hori and save $30. Another negative is that the pcb kind of just hangs on the side and doesn't clip in. The orginal mold clipped into the pcb next to the omron switches. This makes it harder to connect and remove the 5 pin connector as its just hanging there with no support, REALLY ghetto for the price. Another negative is there is no 2mm hex screw driver included, these cost only .99 cents and sad that they didn't include this in the price and you will have to buy separate. Another huge negative is the oversized Teflon actuators it comes with are way too big and hand would cramp up when doing motions due to the overly short throw. So your gonna have to dish out another $5 for the Kowal oversized actuator version anyway, buy that FIRST and maybe a 2lb spring before purchasing this as yo may find this mod completely unnecessary. I prefer stock spring tension myself so the 2lb spring may not be necessary either and will make it more stiff. The Hayabusa pivot is already smooth and the otto mod doesn't make it feel any better than stock in my opinion. I literally only got this for the square jlf gate, I didn't like the circle version of the gate as i prefer the feel of 4 corners, the circle felt ok but diagonals were less accurate so i stuck with the square. I would of preferred maybe a square/octa hybrid instead of the square/circle hybrid. On top of that they try to nickel and dime you more by not providing silicone grease nor a metal pivot or core and charge separately for that as well.
