Required no calibration, and stick movement is smooth.

Worked like a charm, that is until my xbox controller got stuck only inputting one way. It calibrates, centers well after, and is smooth and linear. Theres definitely a bug or something wrong though, I can calibrate it on PC and it works well, for a few minutes, I'll be playing anything really, then randomly its like I'm holding the joystick all the way left or right and it gets stuck even though I'm not touching it, turning the controller off and back on fixes it but it goes right back after another few minutes. Sadly this is proving worse for wear as I replaced my dualsense joysticks with ginfull hall effect v2 and it just works no issue besides initial calibration

Replaced my left stick with one of these as it was starting to drift to an unreasonable degree. Replacement joystick functions, but it drifts just as bad as the stick it replaced. Also, the circularity is abysmal as it has almost twice the error that my right stick (which was not replaced) has. Overall, not a terrible purchase seeing as it was only $10, but not one I would make again.

The first one installed perfectly and is almost dead center. The second one centers too far left and requires a healthy deadzone calibration (-6/32, see pictures). I was not able to center it by bending the potentiometer or pins, they are inflexible. I don't think these are any better performing than the regular stock analog inputs, but at least you know your not getting the cheap fake ones (I.e 20 per pack). They do appear to be made out of heavier plastics, so maybe they will last longer.**you MUST be very careful removing the existing switches. A solder wick is essential to avoid burning off the existing circuit print from the controller board. Also use low heat (350) and go very slow. Damaging the board is a very frequent problem on older controllers.

JAO Automation Premium Quality Joysticks stand out in a crowded market filled with cheap imitations. The attention to detail in both the product and the included instructions reflects a commitment to quality that is hard to find elsewhere. I successfully replaced the drift on my controller and fixed a friend's Xbox Elite controller, both of which performed flawlessly after installation.

Good sticks, was able to lower deadzones in games down a good .05 and travel feels notably smoother and more linear than stocks sticks.Installation was particularly sensitive to having high quality solder joints like I've rarely seen in through-hole soldering, I had to re-solder some pins on the right stick 3 times in a row to get the X axis to finally read properly, and I have a SMT assembly background.I recommend to go full-on with it and pre-tint both the hole and the pins and definitely use flux, and yeah a multimeter is highly recommended to check your work. On an Xbox One it seems when installed the axis pins (group of 3 next to each other in a line, probe the center to one of the two sides) rest at about 3 ohm both sides, so if you're seeing one side up at 6 and the other at point oh something, then wick it back up and re-do it. Make double sure you're not bridging two joints and shorting anything out too. Overall, seller is right about reading his instructions even if you think you know what you're doing.

There are a ton of cheap imitation sticks and potentiometers on Amazon, but these are absolutely top quality. The instructions included and personal messages show the care that has gone into the production of these. I used one to replace drift on a Switch pro controller, and the other to replace drift and bad button on an Xbox One controller that a friend's kid spilled soda in. Both worked flawlessly. If you do use on a Switch Pro Controller, make sure you go into the settings on the system to calibrate the stick. I swapped it and hooked it up to an HTML gamepad tester and everything looked good, but when I used it on the Switch it drifted ever so slightly. After opening it back up, checking my work, and trying it on the HTML tester again, it still had very slight drift. After longer than I'd like to admit, I realized that there is a calibration option on the system. I used that, and boom... everything worked exactly as it should have. If you have the technical ability to replace joysticks, do yourself a favor and buy these instead of cheap imitations.

I bought these sticks for a custom pro controller build I was planning. After watching the helpful graph video someone posted showing the sensitivity and read input between these and stock joysticks, I was sold. I never noticed it before in my 4+ years using pro controllers but the stock joysticks are pretty much d-pads and accelerate to full power in either direction very quickly. These sticks have a lot more variance in the level of input detected and aren't a "full send direction button". The only issue i had was they read a wider range of motion than the pro controller shell allows it to travel. This caused an issue with games not recognizing me going "full speed" with my joystick and walking in games even though I was bottoming out the joystick in a given direction. It's no big deal though, the fix is using a dremel to make the joystick holes in the faceplate of the controller bigger and then setting deadzones. The install seemed daunting with so many pins to desolder and solder. I have a background in IT but I'm a mere novice at soldering. If you're not experienced with it either, make sure you have the right tools; a magnified helping hands like I have pictured is almost a must have. I also recommend a self heating/vacuum desoldering tool for all of the tiny pins. Just be patient, watch some soldering basic videos and it's not terribly difficult since after the first couple of pins, it holds itself in place and it just takes time and steady hands after that. If you choose to undertake this project, understand it's just that: a project and will take a bit of time and skill. I hope this review was helpful, good luck!
