These skewers are sturdy and each hold a lot of food. I loaded up each skewer wit a half pound of chicken and they hardly flexed. I removed the grates from my gas barbecue grill and placed the skewers across the grill with the lid closed. The skewers were long enough to have the handles outside the grill and they remained cool to the touch and made it easy to turn the meat over. I did not experience any sharp or rough edges others have complained about. Clean up was reasonable. There were a couple of charred spots, but were removed from medium scrubbing with a scrubbing sponge.
