I grabbed the ANDYCINE C7 7” Field Camera Monitor to pair with my Sony FX30 for filming lacrosse games, and it’s been a game-changer for outdoor filming. Even though we’re often dealing with direct sunlight, the screen is bright enough to give me a clear picture without needing a sunshade.✔ Bright Display – Despite no sunshade, it performs well in the sun. The brightness is solid, and I can easily see the action without straining. Sure, a matte screen might reduce glare, but I think it’d mess with the color accuracy for indoor shoots.✔ Great Battery Life – The battery holds up for hours of filming without giving me trouble.✔ Keeps Up in the Heat – It does run hot, especially when exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, but surprisingly, it hasn’t caused any issues. Filming in the middle of summer, I expected overheating, but no problems so far.✔ Perfect Size for Sports – The 7-inch screen makes it easy to follow the fast-paced action, ensuring I don’t miss a moment. If you’re shooting outdoor sports, where the lighting conditions are unpredictable, this monitor is definitely worth considering. I’ve been really happy with it.Would I buy again? Absolutely.

This monitor makes getting the shot right way easier. Love brightness. Love dual battery slots love false colors, touch to zoom in for checking critical focus and peaking display. Makes my work easier and better. The only negative is my fist one started to fail..looked like false colors all the time after a miute or so of turning it on. Im not sure if i wore it out or if i may have shortened the life span as it had one decent fall onto a floor a few months prior. I still took a gamble and bought another because i liked it so much. Especially for the price point and features you get.

I have used a ton of monitors including products from SmallHD, Atomos, and others. This particular monitor offers features not found on others in this price range. First, let's talk about the build quality. It's made of a polycarbonate plastic material that makes it light weight which means strapping this 7" monitor to a camera like the A73 is possible without adding a ton of unnecessary weight. It's suitable for gimbals and shoulder rigs as well. There are plenty of physical buttons including a few customizable ones if you do not want to use the touchscreen at any time. For example, I like to disable the touch screen when out in the field to avoid smudges and smears. They interfere with the visibility and light reflectivity when in direct sunlight. So, having the option to go touch-less means less wiping down my monitor which ultimately means I have less of a chance scratching my display. Speaking of the display, it's a great. It has a crystal clean image, with pretty accurate colors, and great peak brightness. It's a pretty reflective display but it gets bright enough that it shouldn't be a problem in most scenarios. The touch OS Andycine is using is great and super intuitive. It also offers tons of customization for quickly accessing modes and settings on the fly. The modes I typically use in every shoot are false color, zebras, 1:1 zoom, focus peaking, and I also add the horizontal and vertical flip options to the quick access bar. This is because this particular monitor comes with a nice mount with a cold shoe attached to it. It allows you to quickly flip the monitor from front to back in case you're filming yourself. Having the vertical and horizontal flip options in the quick access menu allows me to ensure I'm also in correct orientation. There is also audio controls built right into the monitor which is great for cameras that don't have headphone jacks. It takes Sony L style batteries which can be picked up super cheap however it does have 1 in the box along with a charger and a travel case. I've used AndyCine monitors in the past and what I love about them is how much value they bring. They always include tons of additional accessories giving you the ability to pull a monitor out of the box and use it right away which is nice. This is the same case with this particular monitor. If you're in the market for a great 7" monitor that's for the most part day light visible and you don't want to spend a fortune, make sure to check out this one.

It's revealing that this monitor doesn't even ship with a sun shade. Even in direct sunlight (see photos) — you won't need one! So much brighter than the camera's screen. Once you've used an ultra bright monitor like this one it's difficult to go back to using anything else. The Andycine C7 has a few unique feature we especially like. The monitor comes with an NP battery (you can never have too many!). It has a handy photo sensor on its top bezel enabling auto backlight brightness mode, so you won't have to change the setting if you are heading indoors and back outside often. The pixel-to-pixel zoom function is also really handy for cropping into the 4K image sent from your camera to check focus. You also get 1/4-20 mounting threads on three sides for various rigging options. This touchscreen is also well thought out. You can change the backlight brightness or volume level by just dragging up or down on either side of the screen. And adjusting menu settings is quicker with touch than it is with multiple button presses (but that option is also available). For an affordable option the setup also looks pretty slick.
