Ventilation is a necessity for all gas fire pits; for propane applications, fresh oxygen is required to draw into the air mixer in order to burn properly, while natural gas units can overheat without any ventilation. We recommend you install two of these vent covers on opposing sides to give your gas fire pit the ventilation it requires - and also keep small animals from getting into your fire pit.

I wouldn't have known that these could be bought separately, so they're a nice basic, versatile grate to have that's made of stainless, but not heavy. They're actually quite lightweight. The vent openings are the right width. The plates are flat and easy to clean.

These are nice and sturdy, relatively thick gauge metal. They will work fine.Docking a couple stars because the hole pattern I received was different than the product photos and looks bad because it's not symmetric. Each one was missing a hole in one side. I'll have to drill another hole so it doesn't look stupid. Poor quality control.Another thing I didn't like is that one side was typical brushed stainless finish but the other side had kind of a glossy film on it. I thought it would be a removable clear film but I couldn't get it off.I usually get the Firegear brand vent kit but this was a little cheaper and I could get it quicker. The Firegear comes with stainless hardware. This comes with nothing, so you'll have to purchase screws/bolts separately.So, while this will work and it's not terrible, next time I'll go back to Firegear.

Nice brushed stainless-steel vent - 1.15mm thick. These should look great on our outdoor gas fire pit. Arrived quickly, but could have been packaged a little better to prevent minor bending. Definitely would buy again.

Needed these for my gas fire pit that had overheated in the summer because it was not vented. These worked perfect and were very easy to install.

I was worried this item may come flimsy or weak. I am building a fire pit and needed to install these on opposite sides for ventilation of any gas. They arrived quickly and nice finish and gauge. I just drilled 4 holes for each and installed using plastic anchors and screws. Couldnt be happier compared to the price of the same item on the fire pit website I bought the burner from.
