This is All Star's introductory level catching mitt. I bought it for my 7 year old who catches in a machine pitch league. He used it in the summer season and currently is using it for this fall season. I think the glove was designed for coach pitch leagues but it has held up extremely well to machine pitch (40 mph). The only negative is that in order to make the mitt easily closable for younger players, they had to go light on the palm padding. So balls not caught squarely in the pocket can sometimes sting the players hand. Very satisfied with this purchase. I will update my review at the end of the fall season.
