I purchased this item only because it states .50 cal. I tried every large rubber attachment from this kit but none of them could be adjusted enough to secure the bore sighter to my .50 cal CVA Wolf. Extremely disappointing. Guess you get what you pay for.

Complaint loose fit is because you need to put the feathered part on the bore sight so it spreads as you tighten the screw. Once snug in the barrel, give it a twist to make it tighter. I don’t know why a hex key is included for the laser since instructions state pre set at factory. Batteries must be in the correct direction. Wrong direction will damage both laser and batteries. If there was a on off button instead of a twist to turn off laser I would give it five stars

I have needed a bore site for awile. They all were about the same, at different price points. This one was somewhere in the middle. It shipped and arrived just fine. The instructions are ambigious, but hey...I'm snapping in a .22 Marlin, and a .177 C02 pistol. It fit the pistol with just a wrap of teflon tape on the end, and no adapter.Read alot of reviews where folks blame the tool. A tool is only as good as the person holding it... Google it.

Does it help sight in a scope? Well.... kind of. Personally, I found it to be a waste of money. I have found the old fashion method of starting close and making adjustments to be faster and easier than this bore laser. I'm the first to admit, that the problem may be more me than the bore laser. But after playing around with the bore laser, I chose to just use the "old fashion method" of starting close and working my way further out. I believe sighting a scope is different than open sights. For sighting a scope, I found it easier to to just start close and work my way out. But.... The bore laser did help with my brother's Springfield 45-70 with open sights. It saved a lot of expensive ammo and we discovered where to aim the open sights to hit paper. So..... Depending upon your application, cost of ammo and your patience, this bore laser can be useful. For me sighting a scope, I found starting close and making adjustments to be faster and easier than the laser.

I have mixed feelings on this boresighter. I had to order this item twice because the first one that I received did not work (the laser was not working at all). The second one I received did work. I noticed immediately, even with the first one I was sent, that the boresighter seems to be cheaply made. It may be that I am unfamiliar with boresighters, so I have no idea what I was to expect. However, the materials just seemed to be of a poor construction. I do not say this because of the experience I had with my first shipment. I say it because that was my first impression even before I learned that the first boresighter was not working. Still, I was eager to try the boresighter out once I had received the replacement in the mail, and once I knew that it was in working order. One of my rifles is, and has been, spot on, so I used that as a reference with this boresighter. My husband and I put the boresighter in that rifle and pointed it toward the target that was included in the package with the boresighter. To our surprise, it was spot on, which confirmed that this boresighter is accurate. So, onto the next rifle we went. This rifle has been off from the get go, so we really needed to get it sighted in. After placing the boresighter in the barrel, it was apparent that this rifle was REALLY off. We got it boresighted as close as we could. Then it was time to test fire the guns. Both guns have proven to be accurate, so it is my opinion that this boresighter does it's job. I like that there are adaptors for many different calibers of weapons, so you can use this on most guns. From our experience, it is pretty straight forward and easy to use. I am giving it only 4 stars, simply because it really is cheaply made, so I think that it could easily break. However, I am happy with my purchase overall, despite that fact. If you are looking for an inexpensive boresighter, then this is perfect to try out.**Disclaimer**....I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
