Ordered wrong item, so gave it to a friend, with the correct pistol. Fit & finish were perfect.. So I ordered one for 1911, and did some fitting (file) to the piece that fits into the rear sight notch of the slide, for my old (1986) Belgium BRNG HI-Power, & it worked as well.

Not terribly hard to figure out if you’re YouTube savvy, but you get zero instructions with this plate on how to install it.Works fine otherwise.

This did not fit any of the smith and wesson m&p pistols that I own. Waste of time and money.

This is a decent optic plate, but I removed a couple of stars because it is not designed correctly for the type of pistol that it says it fits. First, the piece that goes into the dovetail slot on the slide fits very loosely and relies totally on the pressure of the screws to hold it in place. I would rather see at least a slight pressure fit. Second, the portion of the slide behind the dovetail slot on M&P pistols is lower in height than the area in front of the dovetail, maybe by around 2mm. This plate does not account for this and therefore slants down at the rear when installed. I used up all of the elevation adjustment on my Vortex Viper but was still not sighted in due to the slant of the optic. To fix this, I got two small nylon washers and glued them together, and then placed them between the plate and slide at the rear. This perfectly leveled the optic and I was then able to get it sighted within the elevation adjustment range of the Viper. Just be aware of this before ordering. The price is good on this plate, but it’s not perfect and you very well may have to do some custom fitting.

Would work great for a Glock, but I have a Taurus, which may use a type A, B plate mount. Had to modify the dovetail in order to fit my PT809.

This is the best of the dove tale mounts for your RMR. I have it mounted on my M&P 2.0 full size, compact, and subcompact 9mm. I also have it on my M&P. 40cal. It fits firm and does not loose zero. Perfect for not milling your gun. The ones on the Glocks and Sig Sauer are suspect.

The reason I was seeking a red dot mounting solution was because for some odd reason my pistol came from the factory shooting low. About 4 inches low at 7 yard to be exact. First, I told out operator error by taking myself out of the equation and strapping it to a rest. Them I got new sights. I even tried to "mic" down the spare front sight. I was able to bring the shots up by 2 inches at 7 yards. However, there wasn't that much metal left on the front sight to file down. I guess I could have purchased take rear sights too. But I've always wanted red dot equipped pistol. I've have red dot sights on my AR and shotgun and love them.I contemplated getting the slide milled out, but my pistol cost less than $400 new. Getting the slide milled out was not justifiable. Milling out the slide is also red dot unit/brand specific and I wanted to have the option of swapping out different units. A dovetail mount was the best solution. This product fits in the S&W SD9VE perfectly. The included screws were a little short, but I contacted the seller with the measurements of the screws that I needed. They promptly sent the appropriate length screws expeditiously. I was able to mount the vortex venom 3 moa sight without a hitch. Fitments for the venom was also perfection. It has held zero through 300 rounds. The pistol is now much easier to shoot accurately and rapidly. Problem solved.
