Removed the old sights on my 38 and replaced with this rail to add a close combat optic. It worked as expected.

Easy to install with just common hand tools although I have an inch pound torque wrench that most folks won't have. All the hardware was included with two extra frame screws. My revolver is fairly new, so the mounting holes were already drilled and tapped. My older Smiths would require being drilled and tap to be able to use this mount. All in all an easy way to install an optic on a Smith&Wesson revolver!

Top Shelf Craftsmanship! Perfect fit... the three holes in the EGW scope mount line up with the three factory taped holes on the 627-5. 5 minute install, 10 minutes if you let your 4-year-old do it. Side Note: The scope mount by itself makes a quick static rear sight for "close-in" combat and it just looks sexy!!!
