I used these for a 4000 lb lathe on a trailer and again today for a 2000 lb excavator. They held well although at no point were they tested with any substantial braking or side load. After two uses, two are torn slightly, most likely from a sharp edge during tie down. My opinion is that sharp edges are just part of moving heavy things. I consider these inexpensive straps and also disposable straps.

My husband ordered these and I was surprised to see that they came with a pair of gripping gloves. These are pretty heavy duty straps to haul our off road equipment

As soon as I opened the box, I put them back in. These are more like 4,0000 lbs. breaking point ratchets.

I have been using them a while now. After some use they do require to be lubrication. A couple drops of oil and they work better than new.

So this is an amazing value for heavy duty straps. The strapping material is solid, the ratchets are smooth and easy to operate, they look and feel like the straps I've used in shipping containers and tractor trailers.However, do not expect them to hold the same load as the equivalent name brand straps.They're advertised as up to 10,000 pounds, and I'm confident they will hold at least a couple tons. It all depends of course on how you're using them (flat load, length, angle, etc).But my biggest concern on these are the ratchets themselves. I think the straps are fine but I have no clue what this metal is made of, there are no markings. The handle part is aluminum and has lots of tool marks on it. There's the possibility of any part of the ratchet twisting under pressure, which would sacrifice it's integrity.I personally am using these as an alternative to the 1" straps on my hobby trailer, maybe for transporting motorcycle, small boats, furniture, etc., simply because I prefer the 2" straps (not because I've got a heavier load). I don't plan on using them for a professional load.Also, modern straps have an edging to prevent fraying, and these do not. This doesn't really bother me, I'm pretty sure the straps I've been using are 30+ year old, and they're frayed quite a bit, but I have no hesitation using them, even towing a small vehicle with them. But I'm talking about home and farm use, I doubt these would fly in an OSHA environment.These are trucking style hooks (not the kind that come with 1 inch straps). So the hook is thicker and may not fit the strap hooks on a normal pickup truck bed.Overall I like them quite a bit as an alternative to 1 inch straps for light to medium jobs, but I would exercise caution for using with heavier loads.
