This kit worked out good to get ice despenser working again, the fabricated metal bracket actually fit pretty good to fix broken plastic hook for ice door on the door, ( that hook part in not available. Was a little tricky getting it into place, there is now instructions with parts but there is videos on utube.

Even though it was only to take about fifteen to thirty minutes to install it took about 2.5 hours. Had only planned to replace door due to age of fridge couple of parts cracked and had to replace. Best to buy this kit which has several parts just in case of breakage of parts and no need to wait for other parts.

Second time I had to fix my icemaker. Pulled video up on YT and followed directions. My icemaker is once again working great. Its really helpful to be able to find appliance parts on Amazon.

I have a 27 year old Kitchenaide 25 cu-ft side-by-side unit. bought this to replace the ice door flap (which no longer sealed) and the bracket for the flap, which had broken. I couldn't find the individual parts, so I bought this "universal" kit. After a few hours, I finally got it installed, and it seems to work OK (so far). Here are a few of the issues I encountered:1. The pin/shaft was both too short and too large a diameter. I wound up using the original pin.2. The tabs through which the pin goes, needed to be bent inwards.3. The metal bracket itself needed to be bent to fit the contour of the freezer door.4. There were no instructions provided.

This part was easy to install after watching YouTube videos. I have no more ice buildup up on my ice maker chute.
