I needed a water testing kit for checking when to replace my water filter cartridges. I have RO filter and company recommendations are not always accurate because the lifetime of the cartridges depends on the use and not certain period of time. These water testing strips have many uses and come in handy when traveling as well.

Used this to test my water because we have very old pipes and the tap water isn't really smart to drink even if it is technically safe. My water is so hard it doesn't have a voltage on the scale provided and has more chlorine than is safe which actually tracks with gov data for the area so I have to say its probably fairly accurate.

This test kit is easy to use. You just fill the test tube, draw water with the tiny dropper, squeeze one drop into each hole on the test strip, and compare colors to the card. The process itself is straightforward. The biggest issue with this or any home water test kit is that I have no real way to verify if the results are accurate. All my readings came back good and matched what the local government reports, so that's somewhat reassuring. The color comparison can be tricky indoors. Definitely follow the manufacturer's advice to read results in natural light by a window. Some of the colors are dark and the shade differences are hard to see properly under artificial lighting. It does what it claims to do, but there's always that lingering doubt about accuracy that comes with any DIY testing solution

I initially had very high hopes for this product, and upon opening it, it definitely looks legitimate. However, when I tested it against my tap water and filtered water, I didn't notice much difference. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it actually works. When I compared the two samples side by side, there was only a slight color difference, which I don't feel is enough to accurately determine the product's effectiveness. That said, I do appreciate the concept, the packaging, and the idea of being able to test your water for alkalinity, nitrates, and more. It's a great product idea, but I'm uncertain about its actual performance.

I have been curious about our water for years. Then we retired and moved about a thousand miles to be close to the kids and the grand littles. We found a new house – and I am again curious about our water. At some point I bought a water test kit – but it was really complicated. I love this kit! It contains five sets of everything you need to test eight parameters in your water. Running the 8 tests really only takes about a minute total and the instructions are easy. Perfect. You simply use the supplied little pipet thing to collect water and release a drop of water in the eight segments on the test strip, and wait 30 seconds. Basically, I squeezed the bulb end of the pipet and held it upside down under running water, releasing the pressure on the pipet to draw in water. Then you let one drop of water fall into each of the eight areas on the testing strip. You have the results in 30 seconds. This is very easy.

These 8 in 1 Drinking Water Test Kits come with five individually packaged tests. These are good for home or office tap or when away from home. I tested my home tap and all eight parameters were in the normal range and the colors were accurate. I plan to take one of these when we stay in a mountain cabin with well water just to be sure the drinking water is safe. The test is easy to do, fill the burette with the water you want to be tested, use the included straw to suck up some water, and drop one drop in each of the cavities. Then wait 30 seconds (without going over 60 seconds) and compare your results with the colored card. The directions say to do the test twice and average the scores but I trust one time will do the job. I might average two if my first test was way off. This is a good value for 5 tests. Nice product.
