I like the quality of this 4" x 4" post base set. I like that the welds go all the way around, no tack welds. I like that they used .08" thick steel, and applied a nice texture coat finish. I like that they included 3/8" concrete anchors to hold the post down firm. And I like all the hardware, including hex socket impact bit and post drill bit to mount your post. The only thing not included was a masonry bit. I feel this kit represents a very good value for setting 4 posts on a concrete pad, especially with everything included.

Just as Described, Perfect for My Project! These 4x4 post brackets are fantastic! They came with all the necessary hardware, including a 13 mm nut driver drill attachment and screws, which made installation quick and easy. The full welding and stainless steel construction feel incredibly sturdy and durable, and the rust-proof coating ensures they’ll last for years.I love how simple they were to install—just cut the wood, insert it into the bracket, and tighten. The finished look is neat and professional, adding a modern touch to my deck railing. These brackets are versatile and perfect for outdoor projects like decks, fences, and pergolas. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable and stylish post bases!

1: Why do we want it? Building a ramp. And we really like to strengthen posts with hardware.2: Unboxing: Comes in bags in box, includes hardware.3: Instructions: None.4: Install: Fit and fasten.5: In Action: These are good enough for around a 42” max post base.Pros:Solid.Cons:The holes at the top should be offset, but you can just use one hole per face or two either side instead of 8.ProTip: If you can afford it, upgrade to all hexhead fasteners. For taller posts we like the 6” or so post bases.

The deck posts and 4x4 post anchors have a flat surface for mounting to wood or concrete, making for ease of installation. However, they are not as heavy-duty as others I have used. The included screws do not appear to be construction grade thus, these posts anchors and hardware are probably best suited for 4x4 posts used in deck railing. I can't recommend these for structural purposes.

It's really hard to tell, but in the far bottom left of this picture, you can see the bracket. it's very strong and makes me feel secure about leaning on the post now. Some chump was taking the pictures or else I'd have a better view (it was me). But I used 3 in total to reattach 3 deck posts that had the old brackets rusted out completely. I was also very pleased to discover a magnetic nut driver had been included for the large lag style bolts used to attach the bracket to the surface underneath. I'm very pleased with these.

I have another 4X4 post base. That one is 5 1/4" high, this one is 3 3/4" high. The walls of the other base is 3/32" thick and this is 5/64", about one sixth thinner. That said, this post base is stainless steel with tidy welding and what appears like powder-coating. This item is several dollars cheaper than the rival. I can make it work for me by using these at the top of the 4X4 posts to attach a cross beam, which has a lighter load than the post base. The base comes with a hardware kit containing concrete anchors, wood screws and lag screws with a 13mm magnetic nut driver for the lags. This should be adequate for rail support posts and the like.

I read other reviews for this product prior to ordering so was a little hesitant, not knowing what would arrive. I am not a metallurgist, welder or commercial builder so I can say, based on appearance alone, these look comparable to what I've gotten at big box stores in the past to use on my deck and pergola project. They are a heavy metal (whether or not they will rust is yet to be seen because that process takes time). I do recognize the holes are not offset which is strange and that means you are limited to using only 1 screw on each side. The screws should be offset. I plan to use shorter screws in both holes on 2 opposite sides rather than 1 longer screw on all 4 sides. I have no idea if that is the right approach but I guess I'll find out. Waiting for the deck to dry after yesterday's rain before I go install 2 additional 4x4 posts using these post bases. I'll update if there are any issues or if they have some sort of catastrophic fault during installation but I don't expect that. The welding looks solid to me (maybe not pretty or perfect) but better than I could do and the metal is nice and thick. I see no reason why these wouldn't hold up but, again, only time will tell.

Seem well made, with a good finish.I fell they are a little short overall for sideload/tipping.
