Yes it’s tricky to put together. Use a rubber mallet!!Once it’s together it’s sturdy! Yes tiny seeds will fall through, but I have never had a tray where tiny seeds do not. Use a paper towel or cheese cloth but many seeds do not fall through. It’s a fun cheap great product. Don’t listen to the other reviews.

Just amazing! This got lost in the mail and derailed my spring sprouting but it finally arrived and I’ve got piles and piles of the most nutrient dense sprouts and roots and grass for our quail! So wonderful to have fresh snacks for them every day!

I couldn't be happier with the 4-Layer Seed Sprouting Tray with Strong PVC Rack and Wheels! The design is incredibly sturdy, thanks to the durable PVC material, and the wheels make it so easy to move around, even when fully loaded. The four layers provide plenty of space for different seeds, making it perfect for anyone serious about sprouting. The trays are easy to clean and drain, ensuring my sprouts grow healthy and mold-free. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced gardener, this is a must-have. It’s functional, high-quality, and worth every penny! 🌱✨

Went together easily, but got to the end only to discover I'm short a wheel. E-mailed, but no reply. Trays will sit on ground without wheels.

I’ve been using this since I ordered it a few months ago. It was a bit of a pain to put together but it’s sturdy. It does the job. I have had no issues growing micro greens and chicken salads in this. I pretty much always have something growing. I use the bottom tray just for storage. I like that it ticks neatly next to my counter in the kitchen, the trays are small but actually for me it’s perfect as they can’t go bad before I use them.

It couldn't hold the weight of two trays. And you can find other products on Amazon that are cheaper and more durable.

Bought this to grow barley (fodder) for my chickens. It does take a bit to put together and I needed to use a rubber mallet to put it together even though I soaked the connectors in warm/hot water as suggested, it was still hard to do.I find the trays do not fit exactly into the stand, but maybe when the weight of the growing seeds it will??The trays were smaller than I expected, but it does fit in the kitchen sink which will make it easier to water.Like it that it has wheels, so I can move the whole unit to the sink and doesn't take up alot of room in the kitchen.

Grew wheat grass without any type of growing medium really well. Unfortunally, after harvesting it is really difficult to clean and get rid of the left over roots/stems.

There are no lids with these trays which is a problem because sprouts need to be covered until they are sprouted so you have to use chemical-free paper towel or cover with a cloth towel What is really not okay is the holes in the tray should be smaller because small seeds like alfalfa, fall right through so you have to sprout in a jar or bowl first, and eventually transfer to the tray. I thought that as seeds began to sprout, I could transfer them directly to the tray, but that did not work and they still fell through, so back to the paper towel under the seeds which is kind of a pain. Also the green trays are flimsy so when they are full of water and you pick them up, you have to use two hands or the water will tip out of the tray. It works great with bigger beans like mung beans for Chinese cooking or salads and stir frys. Smaller seeds do not work well at all. I heard people say the cart was flimsy but I think it works fine for this purpose and is quite strong. I think I will buy another tray system and sit them in the cart on the trays because this just isn't working with small seeds.

It's a little tricky to assemble, but not too bad if read and follow the instructions carefully. My hand hurts a little after some hard pushing. I should have wear a glove, or maybe it could be easier if soaking with hotter water. Personally I think it's a little pricey, but the product is good so it's OK.

I got this yesterday and it's a great little set up for growing wheat grass. I have seen another system that is much more expensive and would take up a lot more space. I like this unit because it is compact, yet can still grow all that I would need. While it's small and lightweight, it also seems sturdy enough to do the job. Other reviewers have mentioned the difficulties in assembly, but it was really not that bad. The instructions were very good and as long as I made sure that the joints were soaking in very hot water, it was easy to slide the tubes in. However, they cooled very quickly so I often had to put them back in the hot water to finish installing all the tubes. Once the joints cooled, it's impossible to move the tubing either in or out, so it had to be extremely hot for this to work. Using a hammer would be pointless, because the joints fit very tightly once they cool down, although I did attempt this a few times. The wheels fit nicely into the bottom and the trays fit nicely on the rack. I even think that the green and white colors are bright and cheerful to look at. I tucked the whole unit next to the side door on the basement landing where they are out of the way, but easy to get to. It's a well thought out design for someone who wants a little wheat grass or other sprouts without making things too big and complicated.

UPDATE Aug 1, 2023....I'm still using these. I came back to order another set (my 4th) and saw some bad reviews.1) the elbows are difficult to put together even after soaking.Yes, they are - but they need to be so the joints are tight and won't come apart when moved around. Mine are still holding strong all these years later.2) it's hard to get the trays out to water them. At least one review said "especially during the initial soaking, water slops all over".I don't do the initial soaking in the trays, I do it in a jar for the first 12-24 hours (depending on how organized I am - huge window...lol) then I put them in a small strainer with a wet paper towel over the top for another 24 hours and water them about 3 X in that window - or once if I forget - they still do fine ;)Once I put them in the trays, I stack the trays on top of each other on the top position on one of the stands. Don't worry about "squishing" the seeds, they do well when weight is put on them - google it. until they look ready to uncover and be put on a "shelf" (?) - lower level of the stand - on it's own. This typically takes about 2 days - when it looks like its more than a sprout and starting to look like it wants to stand up if it weren't covered with other trays. Once they're to that stage, I water them morning and evening. I take them to the sink and spray them off from the top and once there's a hefty root system, I spray from the bottom too. I rinse them well at that stage in order to help avoid mold (which I have no issues with).3) small seeds fall through the meshWhen I'm using this for small seeds like alfalfa, broccoli etc, I put a brown (non-bleached) paper town down first then put the seeds on top or they WILL fall through. When I'm using them for wheatgrass, I skip the paper towel, it's not needed.4) The paper that comes with them doesn't work well as a cover.I don't remember the directions saying to use these as a cover? I used them as a tray liner for small seeds until they ran out, then I used the paper towels.5) "I wish these came with a cover"If they did, the kit would cost quite a bit more...and there would be many reviews saying "it doesn't work, my sprouts molded" lolOnce you cover the trays, you need to be mindful of air flow or things can start to mold. I use covered trays if I'm growing things in soil in the early spring so I can get a jump start on planting, but I don't use covers for microgreens or wheat grass and it does fine. I wouldn't want a cover for this.I hope this helps and good luck! :)______________________________________________________I LOVE this kit! I got it because I wanted to grow my own wheatgrass. It was my first attempt, and I couldn't be happier. The trays are on the small side. I was a little disappointed w/that at first but now I'm glad. Once the wheatgrass has some length to it, it starts getting a little on the heavy side to take to the sink and spray twice a day (I'm not using soil). If it were a large tray, it may be difficult. This is the perfect size for me.I ordered another kit plus two more trays, it will be here tomorrow. I want to start a new tray out each day so I have 7 trays of wheatgrass constantly going, one for each day of the week.I grew 3 trays this time around, started them all at the same time. I started the soaking/rinsing last Thursday night in anticipation of the kit arriving on Friday. I used 2 cups of seeds and spread them out between 3 trays. It was a thick layer in each tray. I then stacked the trays on top of each other to put weight on the seeds and stacked the 4th empty tray on top of those and put a book on it to weigh the whole thing down. I spritzed it with a water bottle every morning and evening Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues. On Weds I put all the trays onto the shelves in the stand and let the get some sun. It was AMAZING what happened in 24 hours!I juiced the first tray on Saturday at about 3 1/2 inches of growth because I didn't want to wait, I got 1.3 ounces of juice. I did the next tray the next day and got 1.7 ounces, the 3rd tray today and got 1.9 ounces. I think I put way too many seeds in. Once they swelled up and started growing, it was PACKED. I'm experimenting with how many seeds to put in future trays. I'm using 3.6 ounces for the trays I'm starting now. Aprox 1/2 cup.I used the 4th tray for broccoli sprouts. The seeds are tiny so I put unbleached paper towel down first, it turned out great! I ordered the extra trays so I could use the for spouts and microgreens. I really liked using the tray versus the mason jar for sprouting. I'm having so much fun w/it, I'm pretty sure I'll end up ordering a 3rd kit ;)I soaked the plastic joints in hot water as directed but they were still pretty difficult to get together. I didn't mind, it solid once it's put together. I'd prefer that than something that falls apart because the joints aren't tight. If you don't have a lot of hand strength you may need help putting it together.Update 7/29/18: I ordered 2 more kits. One of them had slightly different (elbow joints?) that connected the pvc, they were MUCH EASIER to fit. I guess it's hit or miss which ones we'll receive w/the kit. Sorry for the red font on my images. I couldn't figure out how to change it in my photo editing software, it was glitching out on me.
