I bought this because when I work on my truck or cycle, some of the nuts and bolts are in need of TLC. It has all the common thread sizes in metric and SAE and works to clean up threads just like it's supposed to. It was reasonably priced and well-made. If you need a set of thread chasers, this is the one to purchase.

This is a solid thread repair set that should be able to solve most of your stripped thread issues. The case is fine as it holds everything in an organized manner. The tools are not the highest quality but they fit the price. This is one of those tools that you rarely need but is a must-have when you need it. It fits easily in my tool box.

I've been using taps and dies for about 40 years now. Never had a set of thread chasers like this. Wish I had got them earlier.I hardly ever use SAE sized fasteners, so this Metric set is better for me than a big case filled with 20 extra things I would never use, even if the price is tempting.No problems seen with quality. Have used them a few times so far with good results.

I used this on a transmission drain pan on a 1999 Lexus GS 400, where I tightened the drain plug instead of loosening it, damaging both parts. I replaced the drain plug, and used the thread chaser on the drain pan, and everything works perfectly.

I have two sets. Don't waste money on buying name brand. My friends have snap on , mac and matco sets and they are identical. I have never had an issue. I always lubricate them to reduce breakage.

I am not a mechanic, just a home DIY'er. I needed to fix one of the threads on my mud motor, which helps hold the cover on. It had been stripped or cross threaded since I got it, and this tap worked absolutely perfectly for the job. After running this through, I am now able to just twist in a new screw. Considering my occasional use, this set will probably last me a lifetime.What could be better, however, is the packaging. The case that these come in does not hold the pieces in. I'm used to at least a little nub in the plastic to keep the tools in their proper places. These just get placed into a spot, and even when closed, will come out and mix together. Not one piece was in its place when I first opened it up. I alleviated this problem by putting a foam sheet into the box on top of the tools, and now they stay put when closed. I also wrote 'Top' and 'Bottom' on the case, you do not want to open this upside-down! If you get this set, I'm sure you will need to do the same, but in fairness it should just come that way.What adds to the problem is that the pieces are not marked very clearly. And this is brand new out of the box. I had to use a lighted magnifying glass to read the markings so I could put the pieces in their rightful spots. I suspect this will get harder as they are used and age.
