About this item

  • 3/16 PORCELAIN DRILL GUIDE – Using The Drill Bit Guides Makes A Cleaner Hole As You Don’t Need To Start The Diamond Drill Bit At An Angle So You Don’t Get An Oval Shaped Hole. Guide May Be Tight To Start So You Can Drill Out The Guide With Bit Either Before Taping Guide To Wall Or After As Long As Tape Is Very Secure. Guides Are Designed So You Can Snap Them Into Pieces For Places Where Its Too Tight To Use Whole Guide, You Can Drill A Hole Using Just A Quarter Of Guide If Held Down Correctly.
  • STARTING 3/16 DIAMOND BIT – These 3/16 Inch Tile Drill Bits Are 3/16 Diamond Core Bits So There Is No Point At The End, If You Try And Drill Straight It Will Just Spin Around. There Are 3 Ways To Use Them 1st In A Drill Press, 2nd Start At An Angle Until You Grind A Half Moon Shape, This Will Be Enough Of A Groove To Hold The Bit Steady While You Gradually Bring The Bit To The Upright Position. 3rd With Tile Drill Guides We Include With The Bit. Tape Guide Securely To Tile And Drill Straight.
  • COOLING 3/16 DIAMOND TIP DRILL BIT – We Use Largest Diamond Grit On Our 3/16 Ceramic Tile Drills, They Cut Better And Last Longer But Because They Are Larger They Get Hotter So Keeping The Tip Cool Is Critical. If The Tip Is Allowed To Get Extremely Hot The Weld Between The Diamonds And Steel Melts And The Diamonds Will Fall Off In The Hole, So Unless Flushed Out Diamonds Grind Against Diamonds Small Bits Have A Huge Heat Build Up At The Tip So This Is What Needs Cooled Not Spraying Onto Side.
  • 3/16” TILE DRILL BIT - Fit Regular Drill, This Type Of 3/16 in Diamond Core Drill Bit For Porcelain Tile Must Be Kept Cool And Wet, Dip Tile Drill In Cold Water Every 5-10 Seconds, Also Put Water In Hole To Cool Material Down - If You Do Not Do This The 3/16 Inch Diamond Tip Drill Bit Will Not Get Dozens Of Holes, You Will Only Get 1 Hole. There Are No Teeth On These 3/16 Diamond Bits Just Diamond Grit So You Are Grinding A Hole Not Drilling So A Lot Of Heat Is Generated When Grinding Porcelain.
  • 3/16 IN GLASS DRILL BIT – These Bits Can Drill Glass Ceramic Porcelain Or Granite. To Extend The Life Keep The Cutting Face Cool At All Times And The Material Cool By Forcing Water Into The Hole With A Wet Sponge Or Spray Bottle, Remember Spraying Water Onto The Side Of the 3/16 Bit Only Cools The Side Of the Bit And Not The Hot Cutting Edge. You Must Remove The Debris Or Plug From Inside The 3/16 Diamond Glass Drill Bit As You Go Or It Will Build Up inside And Prevent The Drill From Working.

Guide broke easily and the cutting material of the blade made cutting through the granite much, much longer than expected. I think it's a one and done disposable tool.

I asked my husband if he could drill some holes through some china plates for me so I could make a tiered trays that would match my old china dishes. He watched on You Tube to figure out how to do it. We ordered these bits and they worked perfectly. He did a beautiful job drilling the holes through all of the plates and I know have tiered plates that match my dishes. It would have cost a fortune to have had someone do it for me. I'm so thankful I have a handy husband that will take the time to figure out how to do these things for me.

Hole guide was missing, so we brought up the issue and did not get a reply, so we made our own jig and got the job done.

I ordered this product to enlarge 3 holes in 3 different tiled shower walls in order to remove and replace valve parts. The hole saw worked great. The showers were three different style tiles / stone density and it handled all with no problem. Cut 2 holes dry and one wet with little difference but would suggest wet. Wood template is a great bonus also but I had to fine tune it with the utility knife for the bit to fit. I would expect this bit to be capable of at least 20 holes if not pushed too hard. Great tool for price.

Arrived in good packaging. Tried it out and worked well on porcelain tile.I had to drill a larger hole in a preexisting cut. This thing kept in stable enough to drill through no problems

Really good diamond saw blade. Used this to cut 20 neat holes in red bricks and was barely worn down after all those.

Low quality product, spend more on a better quality bit. With the old bit of a different brand that is WAY past it's prime, I can get about 50% breakage. I have yet to have this bit not break what it's drilling through. Don't bother with this garbage.

I needed this to drill six holes in our 50 year old tile tub/shower for a moan wrap around grab bar - three for each of two installs. Held up for all six holes. I supplied cold water during drilling to keep the tool cool. Took a couple of minutes with a couple of pauses for further cooling but it got the job down. Luckily I didn’t hit a stud.

This is a good product. If you follow the instructions and keep the bit cooled with water, it works great. I made two holes in porcelain tile with no problem. And the bit still looks like new. The supplied guide plate is great, makes it easy to start your hole. The only problem is that because it is made of wood, once it gets wet from your first hole you can't tape it down for another hole until it dries out. Maybe a plastic plate would be better. Overall, worked great and much cheaper than the name brand items in the stores.

Needed to create several 1 inch coins from fused glass sheet. This worked cleanly without chipping. Water was used intermittently.

I was stressing over drilling 1" holes in ceramic tile for the first time. I did not drill a pilot hole before using this, but just held the drill firmly. The first hole I cut, in a large scrap tile, was perfect. However, the 2nd hole was in the center of a 3" wide piece of porcelain tile, and it broke into 3 pieces. Lesson: very effective bit, but cut hole before trimming the tile, and don't cut it too near an edge. I would buy this again, if necessary, but I think it will last a very long time.

Was skeptical, but worked amazing with very little if any chipping. Would definitely recommend and refer.
