The silicone is nice, but it's too thin to make any difference. I understand that you're supposed to catch the ball in the net, this is just in the event you don't. While wearing it inside the glove, it slides upward off the finger for some reason. Likely due to fiction, but again, it's just too thin.

So these are a little surprise as far as impact absorption. We haven't actually played catch with them but when you put them on and punch your hand as hard as you can, neither your palm or your punching hand feel any impact at all. My son is a catcher so these are going to be a great little addition to his bag.
