Do they work? Yes. Do they leave you a nice clean set of threads? Kinda. As other reviews have said, they need to be deburred. Even after that, they will cut the top of the thread pitch off and leave you with what looks like rounded threads but they’re not. But this set is very cheap. If you want matco quality threads, spend matco money. This is the set you use it you have only used thread chasers once or twice in your life on a rando 200k mile truck you bought to haul firewood and don’t know expect it to last anyway.

Kit works well, thread pitches are accurate. Must be de-burred before use. (Run male thread chasers through female chasers to clean cutting edges)

I bought this after I crossed the threads on my Astra. (Lesson learned - don’t use an impact gun to put wheel bolts on!) on the first attempt to repair the threads the tap got chewed to pieces! The metal is so soft it’s useless. Do NOT buy this!

I read a few reviews saying theirs broke. When using thread chasers or tap and die sets you have to be very careful. Go in a little and come back out to clear the chips and use cutting fluid (oil) . That being said I used cutting fluid for a tap and it was super easy to use, had all the sizes I needed and turned out great. I do wish there was a handle but for the price it's a good set.

I bought this to repair a bad thread on my exhaust manifold. I used the M8 1.25 thread chaser. Instead of fixing the thread, the bolt lost its own shape at first try. Very soft metal. Can work on plastic threads at best.

These aren't carbon steal, these are soft like the harbor freight kit. Going to just stick with the bosch set.
